After organizing my families stuff in our storage unit recently, I came across boxes & boxes of my childhood books that my mother had saved. While I was growing up reading was really encouraged and for holidays and birthdays I often got books from my parents as gifts.
These are just some of the super cute animal books I found filled with great illustrations. I plan on doing a lot of scanning in the coming months!

LOL, I almost made the post on time! At least it was shot on the day it was for. =P
I got so darn messy in my ceramics class today. It was awesome. =D
I had a really hard time getting reacquainted with the pottery wheel, though. (It had only been 9 years since I'd worked with one!)
Just a stack of books that had a nice shape. Wanted to take a pic before I moved them to make room for my printer, et voila.

At long last I have got hold of a copy of this book, one I have been after for around ten years now ! A very hard to get hold of book that contains many of the lyrics of Pogue and Popes frontman singer/songwriter Shane MacGowan. And I did not have to get a bank loan out to obtain it either !

SHORT BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Transylvanian-born Lucian BLAGA was a graduate in Theology of the Sibiu Seminary, following which he took a doctorate in Philosophy from Vienna university.
After WWI, Blaga served in various Romanian embassies in Warsaw, Prague, Lisbon, Bern and Vienna, before he returned to the Chair of Philosophy at the University of Cluj. With the advent of a Communist Government, Blaga refused to back the new regime, as a result of which he lost his University Chair and was demoted to the position of librarian. Furthermore Blaga was forbidden from publishing his academic work, being only allowed to publish translations, before he was finally sent to the Communist jails. After being freed the poet came out a shadow of his former self to die a few years later.
Lucian Blaga was proposed for the Nobel Prize by Rosa del Conte, Mircea Eliade and Basil Munteanu, but their initiative was fiercely opposed by emissaries of the Romanian Communist Government sent to Oslo for this purpose. As a result of these political machinations the Nobel Commission caved in: it will not be either the first or last of such scenarios – a sad reflection on the effect of the long hand of repressive regimes on the decision-making of an otherwise distinguished Academic Institution.
