Just looked at the setlist... now I remember. Musically this was probably my favorite lips show I've ever seen. They played all the cool songs from Yoshimi you never hear anymore... symapthy 3000-21, one more robot, in the morning of magicians... they also played lighting strikes the police man complete with strobes and smoke flares and megaphone sirens. Unreal. Breathe closer, followed by what is light > the observer. I am usually not a fan of slow encores... but this was perfect. I'd love to hear a recording from this show. or at least from this tour.

* This is a musically inspired painting from a old revolutionary ballad of the late 60's titled "Clandestino" which I recently encountered on YouTube, beautifully rearranged and brought up to date by Manu, for those wishing to hear this so modern version go to You-tube: "Manu Chao-Clandestino /live/ youtu.be/VU9IWb7To7w
p.s. on a note of interest, Manu Chao is the fifty year old son of "Manu" el rebelde.
The video shows a corner of bloomsbury square as it appears from a window of our flat.
The music is the 2nd Movement of Vaughan William's 'London Symphony'. He wrote that the 2nd movement was meant to evoke 'Bloomsbury Square on a November Afternoon'
So...there you go.

On November 29, 2009, The Cleveland Orchestra performed a Musically Speaking concert focused on Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 ("From the New World"). The afternoon also included a pre-concert chamber concert and post-concert Q&A with conductor Bertrand de Billy and Robert Walters, english horn.

Music is a timeless tradition that warms the hearts of many. While music can be played on virtually everything, for me the sound is perpetuated on a piano. This is why I chose the two to be superimposed! (You can even read the lyrics on the sheet: "Christmas of white..."!)

Two musically gifted women’s lives overlap over the boundaries of time in Rosalyn Story’s novel Sing Her Name. With racism barring her way, a nineteenth century concert artist can never achieve the place in history she deserves. Then, long after her death in poverty and obscurity, a 21st century waitress, talented but musically untaught, has a chance to revive this singer’s name and reach her own success–if her family ties don’t hold her back. Airborne Toxic Event- Sometime Around Midnight
Thanks for the nice list from whitepuffycloud.
This is a new song for me and I will be checking out this band - which is in part why we play.
And you walk...
under the streetlights
and you're too drunk to notice
that everyone is staring at you
and you so care what you look like
the world is falling
around you

Black and White: Day 14 of 30
For the group Musically Challenged : Foo Fighters - All My Life
Random Fact: I had never heard this song before. I'm not sure what I think of it yet.
----------------------------
All my life I've been searching for somethin'
Somethin' never comes, never leads to nuthin'
Nothin' satisfies, but I'm gettin' close
Closer to the prize at the end of the rope
All night long I dream of the day
When it comes around, and it's takin'away
Leaves me with the feelin' that I fear the most
Feel it come to life when I see your ghost
Calm down, don't you resist
Your such a delicate rist
And if i give it a twist
Somethin' to hold when I lose my grip
Will i find something in there,
to give it just what it needs
another reason to bleed
One by one, Hidden up my sleeve
One by one, Hidden up my sleeve
[3x]
Hey, don't let it go to waste
I love it but, i hate that taste
Weight keeping me down
Will I find the believer
Another one who believes
Another one to decieve
Over and over, down on my knees
If I get any closer, I
And if you open up wide
And if you let me inside
On and on, I've got nuthin' to hide
On and on I've got nuthin' to hide
[3x]
Hey, don't let it go to waste
I love it but, i hate that taste
Weight keeping me down
All my life I've been searching for somethin'
Somethin' never comes, never leads to nuthin'
Nothin' satisfies, but I'm gettin' close
Closer to the prize at the end of the rope
All night long I dream of the day
When it comes around, and it's takin'away
Leaves me with the feelin' that I feel the most
Feel it come to life when I see your ghost
Done, done; on to the next one
Done, done, and I'm on to the next one
Done, done, and I'm on to the next one
Done, done, and I'm on to the next one
Done, done, and I'm on to the next one
[2x]
Done, done, and I'm on the next one
Done, i'm done, and I'm on to the next
[3x]
Done, done; on the next one
Done, I'm done; i'm on to the next one
[3x]
Hey, don't let it go to waste
I love it but , i hate that taste
Weight keeping me down
[2x]
Done, done; on the next one
Done, I'm done; i'm on to the next

Two weeks in NOLA for the mardi gras 2017
Founded in 1993, the Krewe of Orpheus takes its name from the musically-inclined son of Zeus and Calliope. Founding members included Harry Connick, both the junior and senior.
In New Orleans, the krewe established themselves as a superkrewe with their first parade in 1994, which rolled with 700 riders. They were the first super Krewe to allow both male and female riders.
The Krewe's throws include a number of popular items including emblem beads, stuffed animals, signature beads, light-up Orpheus medallion beads, cups, three different types of doubloons, and 4-foot-long stuffed dragons.
They have a number of notable floats including the Dolly Trolley, the horse-drawn bus that was used in the opening of Hello Dolly with Barbra Streisand, the Smoking Mary which is a six unit float that looks like a steam locomotive, a Trojan horse and the Orpheus Leviathan Float, which is a three unit, 139-foot float, and the first Carnival float to use extensive fiber optic lighting.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Fats Domino wass the honorary grand marshall for 2014. His eldest son, Antoine Domino III, rode in the parade and perform his 85 year old father's music.
In addition to Fats Domino, Quentin Tarantino reigned as the krewe's celebrity monarch.
