In my search for scenes for my next video led me to The Discover park lighthouse on the shores of the Puget Sound. AKA "West Point Light House"

I've been trying to get out here for sometime but the winds have always been a bit to gusty to fly in. Today it was barely breezy and the tide was in! Add in some morning light and I had some pretty great filming for the day. This photo is my favorite view of it.

Today I flew over a very foggy Tacoma , Washington and started a new video! My main target for the day was to capture some video by the 11th Street Bridge. All the information I had said that this bridge was closed down but indeed it was in full service! Which meant no tom foolery around it. ;(

I was looking forward to flying through it, inside of it , around it , on top , etc; But I had to be careful since cars were driving through every so often. Flying safe around these Washington Landmarks are my first priority. At just over 200 feet tall this was a relaxing routine flight for me.

The 11th st bridge AKA the "Murray Morgan bridge" originally opened in 1913 where it crosses the Thea Foss waterway in Tacoma. Washington. in 2007 it was closed down for renovation which I was also there to take a photo of it then. It is also on the National Historic Register.

Morning flight with Dji Phantom over the river

FLying over the harbour.

It's been rainy and cloudy here in Washington lately and my aerial activities have abruptly halted. So when the sun decided to show itself finally I wasted no time heading out the door.

I found myself in Mukilteo enjoying the sunset over the Puget Sound. There was a ferry dock nearby and I couldn't resist a little flyby. This also means I started a new video which I am currently working on now!

Here's a shot of one of the many lakes in this ancient area. This one is only partially frozen. I had pretty good speed going over this gem of a lake and the footage will definitely be in my video!

CraigPittsPhoto DJI Phantom 3 Edit: So I’m back at home in Gloucestershire and to get the creative juices flowing again and to stave off the depression I felt creeping up on me whilst all my Sydneysider friends are enjoying Vivid (but not the weather) I created this DJI Phantom 3 edit of...

I really had to pay attention in this area. It was easy to keep flying in one direction and because the landscape was so massive it seemed like I didn't go very far.

That is until I looked at my distance and all of a sudden I'm a mile an half out. It's like navigating over the ocean with no point of reference. Still when I did reach points of interest it was a beautiful sight.

Here I am coming in to get a closer look of another waterfall I found interesting. I thought it would look cool in my next video. These rock walls were 300 feet high above the desert landscape.

After thinking about it I decided to make a video of Snoqualmie Falls on it's own. This place is so special it just needed it's own video! It's the only place where I was actually afraid to fly !(That's saying something because I fly everywhere!) Not because of the falls or where it was, it's the unpredictability of this area. Conditions here change by the minute and if I wasn't careful I could kiss "eight" goodbye.

Snoqualmie falls is a 268 foot waterfall which is owned by Puget Sound energy. Its also a source of electricity due to the hydro electric plant on site. It's also visited by tourists 1.5 million times a year!

If you enjoy gigantic waterfalls, cascading water and the serenity of the Pacific Northwest this video is a must see.

One thing to note is I made this video in color and in black and white. Let me know which one you like better! Links below!

Song "Awaken" Music by Tycho

Christmas Day I spent flying unfamiliar territory in the Cascades. I've been filming in 2.7k lately and what makes this photo so special is that it's a screen export from my video! Usually I just take photos simultaneously but as I reach for higher video resolutions it's just not possible. Normally filming in 1080 and exporting a frame of video as a jpeg is almost 2 megapixels. Hardly worth working with since alot of the details are blurry. At 2.7k that's almost 4 megapixels. Just barely enough to be satisfied. Although information from the shadow areas remind me of scanning a 35mm negative and trying to work with it in photoshop. It's kind of cool nevertheless!

Here I am flying 500 feet above some pretty dense forest that seemly never ends. I was a bit worried about landing since the only decent place to launch was on the edge of a hill overlooking the river. Which was also populated with trees all around me. When I came back from a 1/2 mile exploration I had to bring it in by sight and catch it since the ground was at a slant and uneven. I usually catch it anyways but piloting from the trees is not very ideal. All is well that ends well right?

Thanks for everyone coming to visit me. Yesterday I had my first explore and everyone has been really nice! So thanks!!!

As I mentioned earlier in the week I decided to fly behind a ferry boat, the MV Kittitas, and follow it out into the Puget Sound To try and get some footage. The question was could I catch up to it? I did notice it a bit late.

One thing to note was after my little race out to sea I saw my battery was quite low and I decided to turn around. Surely, I wasn't out too far. When I checked my distance meter I was just under a mile and half! Pretty far with almost 2 exhausted batteries! Luckily I made it back. I was so focused on catching that ferry I wasn't checking as much as I normally do.. Luck was definitely on my side that day but the view of the shore from that far out with almost nothing in reserve was terrifying!!!

This video contains that footage so enjoy it! That day was a very colorful day. It was welcome after the rain we have been having!!!

I also made it a point to take in some views of the Mukilteo light house. I haven't been here in a long time! Its such a beautiful place to visit. Lolo and I even had some starbucks coffee on the way back.

Song "Montana" Music by Tycho

Today was my last day of filming for my next video. I needed a really strong ending and I needed to fly somewhere fantastic! Since my experiment over the weekend near the Aurora bridge proved successful I decided to tackle the Seattle Waterfront! In particular the new ferris wheel on the Puget Sound.

Here I am over the water at about 250 feet up coming in for a nice pan. It was beautiful out with the sun reflecting off of the water. I took off from a nearby pier 1000 feet away
