The type 23 frigates are multipurpose warships operated by the Royal Navy and the Chilean Navy. The Chilean Navy has 3 type 23 frigates. This is my version of the FF-05 "Admiral Cochrane", originally named HMS Norfolk. The model is in 1: 200 scale, it measures 66 cm long and I used approximately 1500 pieces to build it. My goal was to recreate the general shape of this beautiful ship and reproduce as many details of its structure and equipment. if you look carefully you will be able to find:

Throughout history, members of Naval Mobile Construction Battalions, "Seabees" have been revered for their ability to quickly transform terrain, pave airstrips, build bridges and construct bomb-proof compounds- and fight to the death all the while. Seabees were a tremendous asset to the Marine Corps, as they were fierce warriors and provided a tactical approach to warfare construction. Many times Seabees and Marines were the first troops into combat zones and first responders against Separatist attacks on helo pads, airfields, roads, and bridges.

MK II "Hatchet" Multipurpose Tactical Construction Hardsuits were the workhorses of the Naval Mobile Construction Battalions during The War. Although they were designed for construction, MK II's had a light grade plate armor- which was just enough to withstand small arms fire. They also featured fully rotatable arms, capable of lifting and moving tremendous burdens. Though not designed for combat, MK II's (and the Seabees who operated them) were deployed within enemy territory and forced to defend themselves, often with many casualties.

Built for the 2014 MocAthalon for team Block Tease, category Civilian Mecha: Build us a mech and pilot for a non-military application.

After the fall of the Greco-Roman Federation, a small group of the Federation's top VCS engineers managed to escape to the West-African Company, an ambitious military manufacturer. The engineers brought with them plans for a new lightweight VCS prototype. The WAC quickly rushed the new system into production, and soon were selling them to the various insurgent forces throughout northern Africa. Reports show that some of the larger insurgent groups may be forming a makeshift government in order to take down the URE.

 

The WAC-LVCS01, more commonly known as the Gremlin, was originally designed as a cheap VCS for use against infantry and light armor, similar to the URE's Hornet. However, the system exceeded expectations, and has proved more than a match for larger VCS due to its mobility and firepower. In addition to a basic rifle, most Gremlins come equipped with a multipurpose backpack, which contains two "System Buster" manual-use warheads, and a light bazooka, as well as a long-range comms antennae. Extra ammunition for the bazooka is stored on the backpack, and extra clips for the rifle are found on a cable around the waist.

 

This one was interesting to build, I started out building the design around a new shoulder joint that would allow the arms to swing forward, and it evolved from there. It's definitely pretty fun to play around with, especially the extra weapons. It does look kinda weird without the backpack, though.

МКДУ-10 Multipurpose Road Vehicle are produced by the TOMEZ (JSC Tosno Mechanical Plant; "ТОМЕЗ", АО «Тосненский Механический Завод») at Tosno, Leningrad region on the basis of NEFAZ dump truck that uses KAMAZ-53605 commercial chassis.

 

Tosno Mechanical Plant was founded in 1982 as an enterprise of the Ministry of Land Reclamation of the USSR that produced land reclamation machinery and equipment. In 1994 the company was converted to production municipal machines - Combined Road machines (CRM) on the chassis of domestic and foreign cars. From 2012 y production of CRM has amounted to more than 1700 units, not counting upgrading and modernization of the existing municipal vehicles.

 

The construction of the NEFAZ plant began in 1972 in Neftekamsk, Bashkiria, specifically to provide the Kamsky Automobile Plant (KAMAZ), which was under construction, with spare parts and component parts for trucks in accordance with a decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR from December 7, 1970. Since 1977 and up to the present time NEFAZ has been the main producer of dump trucks on KAMAZ chassis. On May 19, 1982, the 100 thousandth KAMAZ-5511 dump truck was produced. In 2000 the development of a large capacity first class city bus was started and in September of the same year a prototype vehicle was produced. The first bus of the Nefaz-5299 family rolled off the assembly line on December 6, 2000. In 2001 115 buses were produced, which were delivered to Ufa, Ishimbai, Sterlitamak, Sibai, Neftekamsk, Kumertau, Beloretsk and Oktyabrsky. At present NEFAZ-5299 is the whole family of Russian buses, which are produced as high-floor (since 2000), low-floor (since 2004), full-floor (since 2011) city, suburban and long-distance buses with diesel and gas engine, as well as trolleybus (since 2008) and electric bus (since 2012) variants. The base model has undergone three significant design restyles (in 2005, 2013 and 2018). NEFAZ-5299 is one of the most popular city bus models in modern Russia: more than 10,000 copies have been produced in 15 years of production. In August 2018, the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus, a joint development of NEFAZ and KAMAZ, was released.

LSDH 91 "Sargento Aldea"

Multipurpose vessel of the Chilean Navy, designed for amphibious landings, cargo and personnel transport, hospital ship and helicopter carrier. Originally designed and built for the French Navy and named Foudre, it was sold to Chile in 2011. It was renamed "Sargento Aldea" in honor of one of the heroes of the Naval Combat of Iquique. The LSDH 91 is 168 in length and 23.5 meters in beam, 12,000 tons at full load. Its base port is Talcahuano, it has been used in multiple aid operations in remote areas of Chile, as well as in the humanitarian mission of the UN in Haiti, in which Chile participated.

This is a 1: 200 scale model, 84 cm long, approximately 4000 pieces. When opening the aft hatch, two landing craft can be stored and deployed. It has a side hatch and operational ramp for the entry of vehicles. On the Zulu deck there are several cargo trucks, a tanker and two UN Mowag 8x8 painted white.

On the Alfa deck there are 4 helicopters, two Cougars and two Dauphin.

Among the details that can be seen are the radars and antennas, cargo crane, lifeboats, four anchors (two in the bow and two in the stern), cargo area control tower, helicopter alpha deck control tower, control bridge, Simbad / Mistral missile system, 30 mm cannons (x3) and machine guns.

The most difficult part of the construction of the model was to shape the bow, I wanted its curvature to be as real as possible. The alpha and zulu flight decks were too gray and monotonous, so it was essential to give them variety and color by adding helicopters and trucks. I hope in a next visit to Talcahuano to take a picture of my model next to the real ship.

Creation of a multipurpose building and landscape design for Grace Farms, an 80-acre natural environment in New Canaan, Connecticut that the non-profit Grace Farms Foundation is preserving as a gift of open space for people to experience nature, encounter the arts, pursue justice, foster community and explore faith.

I wanted something in near future Spaceship style, with wedges, corners and a military jet like style. I also got a lil influenced by SW designs, but i tried to really come up with something "new".

 

I didnt want it too big, so the area of possible impact is small - thats why i left wings out and made it compact. It has four guns, 2 large ones in front and 2 smaller ones on the sides to have a crossfire like field. The side Jet Engines and engine covers are movable, to allow a different air flow for different speeds - still, everything stays close to the main body so nothing can get "shot" away.

The cockpit is also movable for the pilot to fit in.

This swift multipurpose aircraft is armed with 2 synchronized machine guns, and a single machine gun on a mount for the observer. Its main use will be as an aerial photography aircraft, and it can also be easily used as a scout, and even a fighter.

A hook mount on the top of the aircraft has been seen in photographs, but it's unsure at the moment what exactly this attachment is for. Rumors are that some kind of project is taking place on the Bellahaus river, but officials are keeping the place locked down.

One thing is for sure though, the Dominions airforce is becoming the most fleshed out in all of Terra "or whatever we would call it in D&C5" We are still not done though.

There are a number of shopping complexes such as Suria KLCC and Avenue K. There are also hotels within walking distance such as G Tower, Mandarin Oriental, Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and InterContinental Kuala Lumpur hotel. Designed to be a city within a city, the 100-acre site hosts the tallest twin buildings in the world, a shopping mall, office buildings and several hotels. A public park and a mosque have also been built in the area and open to everyone. The whole project is cooled via district cooling located on the property. Constructed between 1993 and 1998, the Petronas Twin Towers were the tallest buildings in the world from 1 January 1998 to 31 December 2004. Currently, it still holds the record for the tallest twin buildings in the world. It is the headquarters of Petronas, a Fortune 100 state-owned oil company and also the largest company in Southeast Asia. The towers and the mall below were designed by Argentinian born architect César Pelli. Construction started in 1991 and was completed 7 years later, in the midst of Asian Financial Crisis and Reformasi movement. Due to the soil conditions of the site, the buildings were built on one of the deepest foundations in the world. The Building Services engineer contractor was Flack + Kurtz which is currently part of the WSP | Parsons Brinkerhoff Company. The 88-storey towers were built using mostly reinforced concrete, with steel-and-glass facades to resemble Islamic motifs which were intended to reflect the official and majority religion of Malaysia. The cross section of the tower resembles Rub el Hizb, which further solidifies the Islamic motif in the tower design. 19905

A tower and original casement containing a ritual bath, storage facilities for grain, and ovens. From the roof of the tower are great views of the surrounding area.

This rugged control panel has been designed to be used by a cosmonaut in a spacesuit, on the outside of the International Space Station.

 

Known as the ‘External Man Machine Interface’, it will be used to control the European Robotic Arm, which is due to reach the Station as part of Russia’s long-awaited Nauka (meaning ‘Science’) Multipurpose Laboratory Module (MLM) next year.

 

ESA designed the European Robotic Arm (ERA) as part of its contributions to the ISS. The 11.3-m long, seven degrees of freedom robotic manipulator will be the third arm to reach the Station, following Canada’s ‘Canadarm’ and Japan’s Remote Manipulator System. Serving the Russian segment of ISS, ERA will be able to manipulate payloads of up to 8 tonnes, with a positioning accuracy of 5 mm.

 

“The Russians wanted to give their spacewalkers the option of direct control over ERA,” explains ESA robotics engineer Lodewijk Aris.

 

“So we built this external interface along with as a pair of internal interfaces. External control is one of the attributes that make ERA unique among the Station arms. The interface is designed to endure the space environment for at least a decade – when not in use the hinged cover is closed, to protect it from thermal extremes, radiation and micrometeorites.

 

“This is a qualification model – its flight model is with Russia’s Energia company along with ERA itself. The qualification model of ERA is also here in ESTEC, which we will be using for tests and anomaly investigations post-launch.

 

“We’ll be demonstrating part of this ERA ‘Iron Bird’ during the ESA Open Day on Sunday 6 October. The whole arm is too bulky for our facilities, but we’ll be controlling its wrist live during the Open Day, using the laptop-style internal interface.”

 

Able to move in a similar manner to a human arm, ERA is symmetrical in design around its central elbow joint, with both ends of the arm concluding in end effectors that can function together with their wrists either as ‘shoulders’ or ‘hands’.

 

Its shoulder side will be connected to one of four different ‘base plates’ around the MLM, providing data and power links, while its wrist-and-hand side will be able to take payloads from the module’s airlock and place them on a selection of payload mounting units. ERA will be relocated between base plates as required.

 

ERA’s end effectors also feature cameras for visual inspection and screwdriver-like ‘integrated service tool’ for securing payloads using a standardised pin latch attachment system. The combination of a laser-based lighting unit and force sensor will allow precise manipulation of payloads, including installing and removing them.

 

As a safety feature, ERA includes a detailed virtual map of the ISS to prevent any accidental collision with Station structure – which has been kept updated as the Station grew during its wait for flight.

 

“The MLM, equipped with its own solar panels, an airlock and Soyuz docking port as well as ERA should offer a significant boost to ISS science,” adds Aris. “Directly after its in-orbit validation phase, ERA will have the crucial role of installing the MLM’s radiator and airlock – with backup from the ERA operations room here in the ESTEC technical centre in the Netherlands – before being formally handed over to the Russians for operational use.”

 

The launch of the 20-tonne MLM by Proton rocket is currently planned from Kazakhstan’s Baikonour cosmodrome in December 2020.

Handy multipurpose tow truck.

This small truck is one of the last representatives of the Renault-Saviem SG/TP-Series.

It was chronologically placed between the 1947-1965 Goélette and the 1980-1997 Master.

Saviem was incorporated by Renault as a Truck devision.

Later, in April 1980 Berliet and Saviem merged with Renault. The new commercial car and truck devision was called 'Renault Véhicules Industriels' (RVI).

Between 1980-1982 the brand name for these trucks became RVI.

The Czechoslovakian company Avia started to built the Renault-saviem SG2 and SG4 under license. Later they were renamed Avia A15 and A30.

Originally designed and built for the French Navy and named Foudre, it was sold to Chile in 2011. It was renamed "Sargento Aldea" in honor of one of the heroes of the Naval Combat of Iquique. The LSDH 91 is 168 in length and 23.5 meters in beam, 12,000 tons at full load. Its base port is Talcahuano, it has been used in multiple aid operations in remote areas of Chile, as well as in the humanitarian mission of the UN in Haiti, in which Chile participated.

This is a 1: 200 scale model, 84 cm long, approximately 4000 pieces. When opening the aft hatch, two landing craft can be stored and deployed. It has a side hatch and operational ramp for the entry of vehicles. On the Zulu deck there are several cargo trucks, a tanker and two UN Mowag 8x8 painted white.

On the Alfa deck there are 4 helicopters, two Cougars and two Dauphin.

Among the details that can be seen are the radars and antennas, cargo crane, lifeboats, four anchors (two in the bow and two in the stern), cargo area control tower, helicopter alpha deck control tower, control bridge, Simbad / Mistral missile system, 30 mm cannons (x3) and machine guns.

The most difficult part of the construction of the model was to shape the bow, I wanted its curvature to be as real as possible. The alpha and zulu flight decks were too gray and monotonous, so it was essential to give them variety and color by adding helicopters and trucks. I hope in a next visit to Talcahuano to take a picture of my model next to the real ship.

I wanted something in near future Spaceship style, with wedges, corners and a military jet like style. I also got a lil influenced by SW designs, but i tried to really come up with something "new".

 

I didnt want it too big, so the area of possible impact is small - thats why i left wings out and made it compact. It has four guns, 2 large ones in front and 2 smaller ones on the sides to have a crossfire like field. The side Jet Engines and engine covers are movable, to allow a different air flow for different speeds - still, everything stays close to the main body so nothing can get "shot" away.

The cockpit is also movable for the pilot to fit in.

"The Škoda Type 22E2 type locomotive is a multipurpose electric locomotive built for the North Korean State Railway by the Škoda Works of Czechoslovakia.

 

Although some lines had been electrified already in the colonial era, the large-scale electrification of North Korea's railways began in 1956 after the end of the Korean War and the subsequent reconstruction of North Korea's railway infrastructure. To work the newly electrified lines, an order was placed with the Škoda Works in Czechoslovakia for electric locomotives of works Type 22E2, based on the Type 12E locomotives built by Škoda for the Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD class E 499.0).

 

The Type 12E was developed by Škoda Works based on the technology of the BLS Class Ae 4/4 built by SLM Winterthur. The first prototype was completed in 1953, and production of types 12E1—12E6 continued until 1958 for the ČSD and the Polish State Railways (as class ET13), along with the very similar derivative types - the Type 22E2 for North Korea, and Types 24E0, 41E0—41E2 and 29E0 for the Soviet Railways (as class ЧС1). All variants of the type were built to operate on the 3,000 V DC system.

 

These are dual-cab locomotives with welded-steel bodies and two two-axle bogies. Each bogie has two six-pole DC traction motors, one for each axle. Current collection is via pantograph from overhead lines; the on-board electrical system is 48 V.

 

The total number of Type 22E2 locomotives ordered by the Korean State Railways is not known, but at least three are still in service today. These have been rebuilt in various ways, such as the addition of 'bumpers' on the ends and other features unique to individual units. They are painted in the standard light blue over dark green or light green over dark green scheme used on most other electric locomotives; this scheme is very similar to the livery used on Czechoslovak and Soviet examples of this type."

 

I saw altogether 3 of these type. So maybe more of this set are still in use on the national railway system.

After the fall of the Greco-Roman Federation, a small group of the Federation's top VCS engineers managed to escape to the West-African Company, an ambitious military manufacturer. The engineers brought with them plans for a new lightweight VCS prototype. The WAC quickly rushed the new system into production, and soon were selling them to the various insurgent forces throughout northern Africa. Reports show that some of the larger insurgent groups may be forming a makeshift government in order to take down the URE.

 

The WAC-LVCS01, more commonly known as the Gremlin, was originally designed as a cheap VCS for use against infantry and light armor, similar to the URE's Hornet. However, the system exceeded expectations, and has proved more than a match for larger VCS due to its mobility and firepower. In addition to a basic rifle, most Gremlins come equipped with a multipurpose backpack, which contains two "System Buster" manual-use warheads, and a light bazooka, as well as a long-range comms antennae. Extra ammunition for the bazooka is stored on the backpack, and extra clips for the rifle are found on a cable around the waist.

 

This one was interesting to build, I started out building the design around a new shoulder joint that would allow the arms to swing forward, and it evolved from there. It's definitely pretty fun to play around with, especially the extra weapons. It does look kinda weird without the backpack, though.

“WHEN MAN FLIES IN SPACE -- Lockheed-California Company engineers envision a two-man crew in this concept of a ”multipurpose reusable spacecraft” -- MRS, currently under study for the U.S. Air Force. The Burbank-based aerospace company sees manned maneuvering entry as the beginning of step by step development of reusable space systems. Technology from such spacecraft would apply to future hypersonic transports. Highly-maneuverable entry craft -- capable of aircraft-type landings in routine operation -- present the difficult design challenge of carrying a human crew safely through the entire flight spectrum, from low landing speeds to high in-flight speeds up to 20 times the speed of sound. This latest Lockheed concept results from ten years’ research and study of high-lift-to-drag ratio -- highly-maneuverable -- entry vehicles. For the Air Force, MRS design studies date back four years. The craft conceived here -- one of a design series -- achieves the high payload-carrying capacity important to useful mission accomplishment. Rocket-powered for hypersonic flight in atmosphere and space, the design uses a turbo-jet engine for low speed maneuvering and landing. Jet fuel is carried in the tank directly behind crew quarters. Jet engine air intake duct is seen forward of tail fin, with engine directly in line behind it. The rocket engine is mounted below jet engine at rear; its fluorine-hydrogen fuel is contained in large tanks occupying rear half of vehicle. With the Chinese eating our lunch & eyeing dinner, this might’ve been a good idea to pursue…with whatever consistent or at least, persistent vigor. I wonder what that would look like today. Imagine, from ~1968 forward. Oh well, it is what it is.
