Designed to be a city within a city, the 100-acre site hosts the tallest twin buildings in the world, a shopping mall, office buildings and several hotels. A public park and a mosque have also been built in the area and open to everyone. The whole project is cooled via district cooling located on the property. Constructed between 1993 and 1998, the Petronas Twin Towers were the tallest buildings in the world from 1 January 1998 to 31 December 2004. Currently, it still holds the record for the tallest twin buildings in the world. It is the headquarters of Petronas, a Fortune 100 state-owned oil company and also the largest company in Southeast Asia. The towers and the mall below were designed by Argentinian born architect César Pelli. Construction started in 1991 and was completed 7 years later, in the midst of Asian Financial Crisis and Reformasi movement. Due to the soil conditions of the site, the buildings were built on one of the deepest foundations in the world. The Building Services engineer contractor was Flack + Kurtz which is currently part of the WSP | Parsons Brinkerhoff Company. The 88-storey towers were built using mostly reinforced concrete, with steel-and-glass facades to resemble Islamic motifs which were intended to reflect the official and majority religion of Malaysia. The cross section of the tower resembles Rub el Hizb, which further solidifies the Islamic motif in the tower design. 19869

The Avro Anson was a multipurpose aircraft that entered RAF service in 1936. It was already obsolete for its intended role of maritime reconnaissance by the time war broke out in 1939, but many other uses were found for the type, including multi-engine pilot training, navigator training and personnel transport. It was evidently very useful indeed, as more than 11,000 were eventually built, about a quarter of those in Canada. This is a post-war passenger carrying model with a slightly raised roof-line to make the cabin (marginally) more comfortable.
Don't be fooled by the metallic paint, there's very little metal used in the construction of this aircraft - a steel-tube frame for much of the cabin, but most of the rest of it is a wooden frame covered in doped fabric. The structure is clearly evident along the roof and side of the aircraft.

Made to be a multipurpose suit. It's various uses range from: Mining and farming to police, and everywhere in-between. It was taken off of the market because the eye camera had a fuse problem.
A quick little suit I made. I'm pretty happy with it. It can be a little back heavy when folded up. Those of you who have known me for a while should recognize this guy.
The multipurpose hall, built by Frei Otto and Carlfried Mutschler for the 1975 Bundesgartenschau (federal garden exhibition) in Mannheim, Germany, is held to be the largest timber lattice shell structure in the world to date. With its experimental history, open spatial qualities and integration into the urban topography and its greenery, the Multihalle embodies an “open space” for an “open society.”The Multihalle embodies this approach like no other building of the 20th century.

The cross bar below the lamp was to allow the lamplighter to rest his ladder, should he need to change the mantle, or otherwise service the lamp.

The OCPC400 overhead catenary maintenance vehicle, built by Tesmec for Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), is one of the very first receiving an AMIS authorization, letting it travel as a regular train on the Italian railway network. This multipurpose maintenance vehicle was able to obtain the AMIS thanks to the installation of a SCMT/SSC BL3 train protection system, letting it travel on the main lines just like any other regular train.
This vehicle is seen here passing through the small station of Candelo, along the Santhià-Biella branch line, travelling from Vercelli to Biella San Paolo, where it will be used for the electrification works on the line and inside the railway station in Biella San Paolo.

The Aerial Enforcer is a multipurpose assistance frigate that can carry a large range of missions, from military reinforcement to medical assistance.
It carries 4 standard Blacktron pods and one advanced pod. Those can be deployed to assist Blacktron forces in battle or recover equipments or spacecraft that have lost their pods.
The Aerial Enforcer can also transport some Universal Pod Enhancement (UPE). The UPE attach to a pods, giving him new abilities, like more firepower, speed, detection sensors, etc. The UPE loaded on the frigate depends on its mission.
It also carries a landing module that can be filled with the needed equipment. The module is unmaned and needs a pod to reach the surface. Once on the ground, the module will deploy a sentinel rover for protection until the Blacktron troops can reach it.
My second entry to Brick Pirate challenge. I had a lot of fun building this Blacktron 2 ship. I wanted to keep lots of the BT2 features while using a modern building style. The pods were the obvious part, I had to include them as the major playing feature.

A beautiful red barn located on the former farm of W. Clyde & Marie Hyder. Mr. Hyder, a former animal sciences professor, was Professor Emeritus of Tennessee Tech and the W. Clyde Hyder / Tommy Burks Agriculture Pavilion (a multipurpose facility consisting of 3.5 acres under one roof and operated by the School of Agriculture at Tennessee Tech University) was named for him. He received the title of Outstanding University Alumnus as well as Outstanding Agriculture Alumnus after his retirement.
This photograph was taken last week after during the winter storm that passed through Middle Tennessee. The contrast of the amazing red barn with all the white snow makes a great scene...

It was believed that garlic held incredible healing powers. In southern Slavic regions in was used to protect oneself from demonic forces, witches and sorcerers.
And of course - a vampire in hiding could be spotted by not being willing to eat garlic. HMM :D

This week in 2001, space shuttle Discovery and STS-105 landed at NASA's Kennedy Space Center following a successful 12-day mission to the International Space Station. This was the 11th space station assembly flight. The goals of STS-105 were rotating the Expedition Two crew with the Expedition Three crew and delivering supplies using the Italian-built Multipurpose Logistics Module, Leonardo. Here, the STS-105 crew departs the orbiting laboratory. Today, the Payload Operations Integration Center at Marshall serves as "science central" for the space station, working 24/7, 365 days a year in support of the orbiting laboratory's scientific experiments. The NASA History Program is responsible for generating, disseminating and preserving NASA’s remarkable history and providing a comprehensive understanding of the institutional, cultural, social, political, economic, technological and scientific aspects of NASA’s activities in aeronautics and space. If you're thinking that i'm just lazy and used that turret from an already existing MOC of mine (Kamacops) - you are wrong (mostly). Because actually this thing came first, but I liked the turret so much that I couldn't resist building a tank with it. And there you have it: now this turret is shared between one fine light tank and a *meh* strange armored car (which is fine for military vehicles actually).
