Watermaster Cleaning a canal, India.
Canals need regular maintenance to avoid problems like flooding. Watermaster takes out excess siltation by suction dredging the materials into geotextile tubes or a settlement pond. Multipurpose Watermaster can also remove trash and invasive aquatic vegetation by excavating and raking the materials into barges.

Zwerver 1 - (Scruffy 1 or Tramp 1) multi purpose DP2 support vessel in for Birkenhead. She moored up in Bidston Basin to prepare for a job at Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm to repair the SSEC3 export cable due to a power core fault. She will be working alongside MPI Resolution jackup and Iceni Defiant CTV. She used her DP system to remain in place whilst in Alfred Basin.

The CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) East Africa is working with partners to empower communities in lower Nyando manage climate risk. Agro-forestry, land and water management are among the mitigation interventions employed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Nyando basin. So far, 22 tree nurseries, some owned by self-help groups (more than half of all the nurseries are female-owned). More than 50,000 high-quality tree seedlings have been produced, each worth KSh10-20. About 23,500 multipurpose trees have been planted in homesteads with a 75 per cent survival rate and the local community is establishing a two acre demonstration woodlot. Photos: K. Traumann. iss071e582124 (Sept. 3, 2024) --- NASA astronaut and Expedition 71 Flight Engineer Mike Barratt removes the multipurpose experiment platform (MPEP) from the Kibo laboratory module's airlock. The MPEP was attached to the Japanese robotic arm and carried a small satellite orbital deployer into the vacuum of space pointed away from the International Space Station. Afterward, a series of CubeSats were released into Earth orbit from the deployer for educational and research purposes.

Regular dredging is vital to marinas in order to ensure safe passage for boats and to keep the environment clean.
Multipurpose Watermaster can also help with other works at a marina, such as building and repairing piers (pile driving) and removing trash, debris and algae from the water (raking).
