This is also the penultimate Saturday in the existence of Toren , the Amsterdam underground club of the moment, will be closing its doors for good the 1st of june .
IChiOne parties are blessed with its tranquil atmosphere and amazingly welcoming, yet earthy hospitality, so feel welcome to be a part of this once in a lifetime experience.
Although IChiOne prefers the underground and resides in the shadows, during this event IChiOne will make the night as bright as day.

The Tick and Arthur are readying to leave for New York City when they encounter the Mystic Order of Arachnid Vigilance, a group of mental patients who escaped from the Evanston Asylum when the Tick provided an exit during his escape. The order promises to flourish in their icon's absence. The two superheroes then proceed to get lost trying to find the road to New York. Meanwhile, the Civic-Minded Five are in a battle with the Chainsaw Vigilante, who is dedicated to vanquishing superheroes, who he believes are dangerous meddlers. He easily vanquishes them and then confronts Arthur at a local gas station.
A short throwaway comic appears at the beginning of this issue where the Tick is alarmed by a dream wherein he had disappeared for eight months, an allusion to the fact that the Tick comics were being published on a very irregular basis. There are also letters from Ben Edlund and George Suarez apologizing for the lateness of the issue.
Second edition released September 1995. Third, 10th anniversary edition released August 1996. Fourth edition released January 1998.

Signage for the Greater Union cinema multiplex at Galleria Morley Shopping Centre in Perth's north eastern suburbs. The multiplex opened in 1994 as part of a major redevelopment including a 2 level eastern mall and Myer department store which required the realignment of Collier Road east through the site of a former drive in theatre.
The name dates back to the early 20th century and the early days of film with the merger in 1913 of the Greater JD Williams Amusement Co. and the 'Union' of three early film production companies to become 'The Combine' trading as Union Theatres and Australasian Films. Ironically the new entity all but stopped Australian film production in favour of imported films for its theatres. Union Theatres would be liquidated in 1931 a victim of the Great Depression and the assets purchased by newly-formed Greater Union Theatres.
The trading name of the multiplexes is gradually being changed to Event Cinemas but signage at venues such as this remain.

While his investigations of this subject usually take the form of monumental drawings, this version creates an even more all-encompassing impact. Noble envisioned his wallpaper filling the walls of a bedroom, evoking both dreams and nightmares.

Main Street 6 was one of the relatively few Carmike theaters in the area. This was one of the three 80s-era multiplexes built during Carrollwood's rapid suburbanization; ironically, all three theaters have since closed, causing Carrollwood residents to drive to newer suburbs to see movies.
This theater closed in 2000 and is used as a Halloween store during the season. I went here once to see the Mr. Bean movie. I remember the lines went out into the parking lot.

One of the first closures of a multiplex cinema in the U.K and also one of the only cinemas built with specifications to convert it to a supermarket should it fail!
The multiplex had eight screens and was built for Thorn EMI Screen Entertainment. This would be their only multiplex, opening on 19th December 1986.
MGM Group took over in 1990, and in July 1995 was taken over by Virgin Cinema. UGC took over in October 1999. The multiplex cinema was again taken over, this time, by Cineworld, but they closed it in March 2001.
Today, some ten years later, the multiplex is still boarded up and derelict.

This wallpaper depicts a fantasy city Noble calls Nobson Newtown. While his investigations of this subject usually take the form of monumental drawings, this version creates an even more all-encompassing impact. Noble envisioned his wallpaper filling the walls of a bedroom, evoking both dreams and nightmares.

The Pitt Street building, completed in 1939 (and the Bathurst Street extension, completed in 1965) have served as the Head Office of the Sydney Water Corporation and its predecessors up to the present.
Possibly the most elaborate, high quality and well detailed Institutional Art Deco building in Sydney, probably NSW. Associated with, and designed by the influential architects Budden and Mackey. Reflects the growth of the then Water Board and the stature of the organisation in the quality of the building. In its original design, detail and materials, the building is arguably the most elaborate, high quality example of Institutional Inter-War Functionalist/Art Deco building in Sydney, and probably across New South Wales. Through its use and extent of scagliola, marble, travertine, terrazzo and terracotta and ceramic tiles the building contains construction elements and finishes which collectively are unlikely to be built again to such an extent. The building is a high quality contribution to the architectural townscape of Sydney which has become increasingly rare since its construction. The use of architectural terracotta tiles on this building, whilst not rare in the Sydney area, are arguably of the highest quality detailing in Sydney, if not NSW. The building retains three bronze low relief architectural panels designed by Stanley James Hammond, a major Victorian architectural sculptor whose professional career spanned the Inter-War eras.

Sydney looks set to approve its tallest apartment tower, the Kann Finch Group design rising above the current record which is set by World Square.The 65-storey project in Bathurst Street, on what is known as the Sydney Water Board site, would be 235-metres tall, with an average of nine apartments a floor. While the building will be five metres higher than the World Square apartment and commercial building, it will appear much taller as it is built further up a ridge.
The city's authorities this week published the development application details, recommending deferred ‘commencement consent’, with approval subject to the developer Brookfield Multiplex meeting planning conditions. The most contentious matter, the height limit increase, met the requirements of the City Planning and Regulatory Services.
To comply with concerns over setback requirement, the developer has proposed cantilevering the tower by 2.7 metres over the eight-storey 1939 heritage-listed building in Pitt Street adjacent to the site.

The Odeon Cinema Complex, in Lincoln, Lincolnshire.
It is made up of a nine-screen multiplex cinema with associated catering and retail outlets. Building work commenced in July 2000 after the demolition of the former Kwiksave/Sainsburys Supermarket. A pile-driven structure of steel frame with concrete, brick and sheeting, with blue neon external strip lighting. Opened October 2001. The units were gradually fitted out to include Bar Med, Lloyds No. 1 and Ask restaurant on Brayford Wharf North; Thai One On, (Thai Sabai May 2011), Café Bollywood, Planet Masala and Wrap and Run on Wigford Way West in 2004; Dixey Chicken in February 2005, later Chicken Cottage. Bar Med replaced by Slug and Lettuce in late 2004, followed by So Luxe restaurant, closed 2009; 20 June 2011 Zizzi Italian restaurant.

Backlot Cinema, Blackpool Screen 3, the smallest of the new auditoria. Blackpool has a new town centre, first-run cinema again - the 9 screen Backlot Multiplex which opened in March 2024. The architects for the scheme were Covell Matthews, with interior design by Burrows Little. The largest capacity screen is the 264 seat Imax screen (the screen is 10.85m tall and 19.87m wide), with the smallest coming in at 32 seats, often used for private screenings and meetings. There is a strong community ethos within the cinema, with discounts for local residents, Parent Club, Golden Age screenings, and involvement with Festivals.

Signage for the Greater Union cinema multiplex at Galleria Morley Shopping Centre in Perth's north eastern suburbs. The multiplex opened in 1994 as part of a major redevelopment including a 2 level eastern mall and Myer department store which required the realignment of Collier Road east through the site of a former drive in theatre.
The name dates back to the early 20th century and the early days of film with the merger in 1913 of the Greater JD Williams Amusement Co. and the 'Union' of three early film production companies to become 'The Combine' trading as Union Theatres and Australasian Films. Ironically the new entity all but stopped Australian film production in favour of imported films for its theatres. Union Theatres would be liquidated in 1931 a victim of the Great Depression and the assets purchased by newly-formed Greater Union Theatres.
The trading name of the multiplexes is gradually being changed to Event CInemas but signage at venues such as this remain.
