Another blink-and-you'll miss it concurrency is the two-block multiplex of IA 9 and IA 15 in Armstrong. Per Google Maps' measurement tool, this multiplex is 600 feet long, only 250 feet longer than the multiplex of IA 1 and Business US 34, and 200 feet longer than the multiplex of IA 17 and IA 210 in Madrid.

Signage for the Greater Union cinema multiplex at Galleria Morley Shopping Centre in Perth's north eastern suburbs. The multiplex opened in 1994 as part of a major redevelopment including a 2 level eastern mall and Myer department store which required the realignment of Collier Road east through the site of a former drive in theatre. Note this side is a 2000's replacement of the original dating back to 1994.
The name dates back to the early 20th century and the early days of film with the merger in 1913 of the Greater JD Williams Amusement Co. and the 'Union' of three early film production companies to become 'The Combine' trading as Union Theatres and Australasian Films. Ironically the new entity all but stopped Australian film production in favour of imported films for its theatres. Union Theatres would be liquidated in 1931 a victim of the Great Depression and the assets purchased by newly-formed Greater Union Theatres.
The trading name of the multiplexes is gradually being changed to Event Cinemas but signage at venues such as this remain.

Habitat: en montagne, au sol, grégaire ou en petite grappe, formant un cercle au milieu d'un chemin rocailleux, et en partie habitant la forêt adjacente, dans une sapinière à bouleau mal drainée, en présence d'un vieux hêtre. Environ une cinquantaine de spécimens présents.
J'appose un cf. dans le nom, car je crois qu'il serait préférable de vérifier l'identité de l'espèce par une analyse de l'ADN.

It's a nice theatre, but expensive, especially for a suburban multiplex. But, often, the Kanata AMC is the only place in the Ottawa area to see smaller arthouse releases, especially anime films.
NOTE FOR THE NO-FLASH NIGHT SHOTS GROUP: Yes, the EXIF data for this picture says the flash did fire, but I had it covered with my hand so as to not affect the shot. I just had the flash activated for the faster shutter speed so as to not overexpose the lights.

Not yet packaged SiO2 waveguide based multiplexer/demultplexer used in optical data transmission systems. This is from the very early 2000s.
You can just make out the waveguides on the bottom of the chip, at the base of the edge. The bar added to the chip edge was to facilitate low loss fiber optic connections.

While I was at my mums yesterday I noticed that one of her cacti was about to flower. Echinopsis Multiplex flowers open at night and die after only one day so I went there again this morning to photograph them.
I can't make my mind up whether to use this or the close up shot as my photo of the day, after changing my mind twice I'm going to use this one. I'm so useless at decision making, lol.

The Tick and Arthur are readying to leave for New York City when they encounter the Mystic Order of Arachnid Vigilance, a group of mental patients who escaped from the Evanston Asylum when the Tick provided an exit during his escape. The order promises to flourish in their icon's absence. The two superheroes then proceed to get lost trying to find the road to New York. Meanwhile, the Civic-Minded Five are in a battle with the Chainsaw Vigilante, who is dedicated to vanquishing superheroes, who he believes are dangerous meddlers. He easily vanquishes them and then confronts Arthur at a local gas station.
A short throwaway comic appears at the beginning of this issue where the Tick is alarmed by a dream wherein he had disappeared for eight months, an allusion to the fact that the Tick comics were being published on a very irregular basis. There are also letters from Ben Edlund and George Suarez apologizing for the lateness of the issue.
Second edition released September 1995. Third, 10th anniversary edition released August 1996. Fourth edition released January 1998.

Brookfield Multiplex designed and constructed 720 Bourke Street development for Cbus Property's...`720 Bourke Street has a central atrium extending through all floors delivering an abundance of natural light. ESD features include recycled water use, a 230,000 litre storage tank for rainwater catchment, building management system, timer controlled mechanical and electrical systems and an under floor air distribution system.
Other facilities in the building include a gym, and multipurpose sporting facilities. The existing pedestrian bridge connecting Southern Cross Station to the Etihad Stadium concourse also provides additional pedestrian access to the building.

Adesso si chiamano tutti con sti nomi da materassi… “Cineplex”, “Multiplex”, ecc. ma un tempo “Politeama” era uno dei nomi che andava per la maggiore…
Ricordo ad esempio un cinema piccolino ricavato all’interno di quello che era stato un grosso granaio, del quale conservava ancora la modestia grazie alla poca enfasi d’innovazione dei proprietari incuranti dei dettagli e svogliati nelle migliorie.
Ci si sedeva su esigue ed assai scomode seggiole di legno tipo quelle che si portavano in campeggio, che poi, alla fine degli spettacoli, erano ripiegate ed accatastate da una parte per agevolare la pulizia del locale che era invece l’unica cosa impeccabile.
Anche l’audio lasciava spesso a desiderare e i tagli della pellicola erano sempre troppo evidenti…
Il bar del cinema, che aveva funzioni anche di biglietteria (o viceversa…non l’ho mai capito!) era sempre inadeguatamente provvisto, così che all’intervallo, quando andavi per comperare il tuo pacchetto di patatine, se non eri tra i primi della fila, ne rimanevi senza.
Durante l’inverno rimaneva perennemente chiuso, poi, per la stagione estiva, proiettava film improbabili che di solito erano già usciti anni addietro…
E però aveva di bello che una volta la settimana, proponeva un film per bambini, pure quelli già visti e rivisti, ma in quanto per bambini, sempre attuali.
In quelle serate, proprio come nelle favole raccontate nelle pellicole che proiettava, sullo scalcinato cinema pareva essere passata una bacchetta magica che lo faceva divenire il più bello del mondo.
Bambini accompagnati dalle loro mamme o nonne giungevano in una lunga processione con animi giocondi come uno sciame d’api, per gustarsi le avventure di Bambi piuttosto che di Biancaneve o di Cenerentola…
Al loro passaggio tutto prendeva vita, diveniva più accogliente, si tingeva di nuovi colori, cambiava pelle, era una primavera che sopravveniva in un'unica serata…

Ora va bene tutto, il dolby sourraund, le poltrone come a casa tua, il porta bibite, la pubblicità estenuante prima della proiezione del film, le code interminabili alla biglietteria ed il costo esorbitante di un biglietto, persino il film in 3D, persino gli antipatici occhialini per guardarlo sono stati modernizzati rispetto a quelli verdi e rossi che c’erano una volta, persino quelli vanno bene…
Ma quando mi fai pagare un popcorn 5 euro non ti pare che stai un po’ esagerando?
E poi mi dici che “la pirateria” è un crimine…

The Tick and Arthur are readying to leave for New York City when they encounter the Mystic Order of Arachnid Vigilance, a group of mental patients who escaped from the Evanston Asylum when the Tick provided an exit during his escape. The order promises to flourish in their icon's absence. The two superheroes then proceed to get lost trying to find the road to New York. Meanwhile, the Civic-Minded Five are in a battle with the Chainsaw Vigilante, who is dedicated to vanquishing superheroes, who he believes are dangerous meddlers. He easily vanquishes them and then confronts Arthur at a local gas station.
A short throwaway comic appears at the beginning of this issue where the Tick is alarmed by a dream wherein he had disappeared for eight months, an allusion to the fact that the Tick comics were being published on a very irregular basis. There are also letters from Ben Edlund and George Suarez apologizing for the lateness of the issue.
