The Golden Grads graduated from HSU between 1967 and 1970 and majored in Zoology, Biology, Fisheries, Oceanography, Sociology, and Wildlife Management & Conservation. They all lived in Nelson Hall, which was then a residence option for male students. They frequented places like The Keg, College Cove, and the Big Four and were members of the Boot and Blisters Club for hikers. They started getting together in the summer twelve years ago and meet at a different group member's hometown location each year. This is their second trip to Humboldt, and as you could see today, they had a tremendous amount of fun and formed great friendships while at HSU.
Ruins at Mount Mulligan, 170 klms west of Cairns, via Mareeba/Dimbulah is an impressive landmark sixteen times bigger than Ayers Rock whose underlying coal deposits supported a small mining town from 1914 until 1958. On the 19th September 1921, a massive coal dust explosion in the Mount Mulligan mine killed all 76 men working underground. The disaster still is the worst Queensland has ever seen. The town was situated at the foot of the mountain, a flat-topped, red-brown cliff which rarely failed to attract comment from visitors.

My favorite book as a kid " Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel." and still a favorite as a 52 year old kid. haha. This toy of Mike mulligan and Mary Anne is a new found favorite also!
Mike and Mary Anne where just passing through. No big construction going on in the Sylvanian Families/ Calico Critters area.
In the game of golf, a mulligan is a "do-over." Hit a bad shot? Take a mulligan and replay that stroke. I took this self-portrait about a year ago and although I liked it, I didn't like it enough to post it. Now, with my recent forey into the world of textures I decided to give it a "do-over". I like it much better now.
Thanks to Lenabem-Anna for the texture.
A cool way to view mine or anyone else's photostream is on fluidr.
It was almost exactly two years ago that I had returned to Flint for an extended weekend during my layoff to be in a familiar city and amongst friends.
I tried to replicate my earlier shot (which was in B&W) and want to see how close I could come.
This is near my old neighborhood.
East Flint, Michigan.

The short-lived Gerry Mulligan sextet of 1955-56 recorded three albums before disbanding. This particular out-of-print LP features baritonist Mulligan, trumpeter Jon Eardley, valve trombonist Bob Brookmeyer and Zoot Sims on tenor performing such songs as "Nights at the Turntable," "Broadway," "The Lady Is a Tramp" and "Bernie's Tune." Fun swinging music that is still quite accessible.

This is a Concert Hall record. One of the 1st records selling companies by mail, mostly classics, but they had couple of jazz records too, bought it just because I was in their mailing list and bought some classic music from there.
This Mulligan sounds very "old fashioned" so 50's - that's why its fascinating somehow.
I went down to the huge local ski hill Mulligans Hollow and had some fun watching the kids soar over head. Some would not land quite so well but they would bounce back up and do it all over again. I hope to try and strobe the jump and do a sequence shot.
