This is one of those shots I wish I could do over.
Shot with some cheap second hand Pentax SLR (NOT a K1000) on some non Kodachrome Kodak slide film, the image quality is poor, but the memories are strong.
In June of 2001 I was 7 months into my first post college job, and rather then spending all my money on camera gear I had spent my first few paychecks on a new truck. In hindsight, I should have dumped the money at the local camera shop rather then the car dealership, but my POS car that I had since high school was not suited for raifanning trips.
On the railway side of things, CP's small fleet of SD90MAC's didn;t last too long in the mountains. Before I really had a chance to shoot the big GM's, they were gone. It would be another 9 years before I would shoot MAC's in quantity, this time on the southern Crowsnest Pass route.
Would I like a mulligan? Yes Sir! But until someone invents a time machine, all I can do is look back and be thankful for the few images captured.
CP 9151 West passes the station name sign Partridge, June 20 2001.
When I was child we had a book called Mike Mulligan and his steam shovel. While this one isn't steam powered, it still reminds me of the story.

I've lost 20 lbs since this pic shamed me into it.
The "Dragon and Phoenix" - Chinese symbol of the Emperor and Empress or a husband and wife. My wife Yan's actual handwriting on the scroll translates to "Our hearts together forever". This was my 50th birthday present from Yan.
Shot against the sun with two bare strobes, one low camera left, and one high camera right, triggered by "ghetto wizards". I goosed the colors a bit in Aperture.
A multi-alarm fire severely damaged the former Mulligan Elementary School at 1855 N. Sheffield Ave. early today. The school, which has been closed since the early 2000s and was being converted to 24 apartments, was completed in 1889. CTA service, which runs on tracks directly east of the building, was disrupted due to heavy ice on the tracks. The temperature was hovering near 0 when the photo was taken.

Have you ever had a moment that you wanted to do over? Well if that’s the case, today is your lucky day. Today just happens to be Mulligan Day!
The term mulligan originates from the game of golf; but today it applies to any event that you would like to change. Speaking of changing and event, it looks like our Trooper would like to use his mulligan!
For a funny alternative version check out the Luke’s version here.
