Enjoying splashing through thick mud! I love walking through mud, it feels absolutely amazing under bare soles and it's also great fun. Here's a set of pictures of me enjoying a muddy path!
Better mud than last time, though still not really deeper than ankle-deep. But the "wellies path" (laarzenpad) was now living up to its name :)

Along the Dalyan River you can visit the mud baths and hot springs reputed to be good for the skin and your general health and well being.
Take a boat trip from Dalyan and wallow, hippopotamus style, in the warm, sticky mud swamp. It not only claims to have therapeutic properties (curing all manner of ills from skin problems to gastric conditions) but also claims to make you look ten years younger!
The mud bath is always colourful and crowded but provides a fantastic photo opportunity. You can immortalise this moment by posing for the camera before and after getting into the mud.
Once you have covered yourself in the mud then simply wait for it to dry in the sun. The sulphur pool in which you clean yourself after your mudbath registers a temperature of 40 degrees......so take your swimming costume and a towel.

Some poor unfit bugger who did the 5.3km mud run.
Crawled over piles of tires and pits of mud, over a bus, through ice baths, swam across a creek, climbed over hay bales, and fell over more times than I can count
We visited this unique landscape with mud volcanoes in Buzau Mts., Romania. Here are some more details about this place:
"The Berca Mud Volcanoes are a geological and botanical reservation located in the Berca commune in the Buzău County in Romania. Its most spectacular feature is the mud volcanoes, small volcano-shaped structures typically a few meters high caused by the eruption of mud and natural gases.
As the gases erupt from 3000 meters-deep towards the surface, through the underground layers of clay and water, they push up underground salty water and mud, so that they overflow through the mouths of the volcanoes, while the gas emerges as bubbles. The mud dries off at the surface, creating a relatively solid conical structure, resembling a real volcano. The mud expelled by them is cold, as it comes from inside the Earth's continental crust layers, and not from the mantle.
The reservation is unique in Romania. The mud volcanoes create a strange lunar landscape, due to the absence of vegetation around the cones. Vegetation is scarce because the soil is very salty, an environmental condition in which few plants can survive." (Wikipedia)

I was going through one of my usual bouts of creative depression and struggled to come up with something I was really pleased with.
I ended up looking to shoot the sunset through some water I saw near my home in Regina, Saskatchewan.
I was looking to get as close to the water as I could but mud and soft sand was making it difficult. I saw a piece of foam I thought I would be able to use to distribute my weight across more surface area to hopefully get the shot I wanted.
As I stepped in to pick up the foam block, I sunk right down into the mud. It swallowed my shoe whole and i was stuck like this for about 15 minutes while Tashia helped me with an alternate solution.
So here I sat; one shoe, my camera, and my bad attitude. Tashia brought me my rubber boots, which I should have just worn in the first place, and I set out to get the shot I wanted.
Even with the boots, I ended up almost getting stuck in the muck. The mud made it past the height of the rubber boot and onto my pants. I ended up wiggling back and forth enough to finally get back to terra firma.
I didn't end up getting the shot I wanted, which makes it more frustrating, but I think it comes down to not forcing creativity.

Mud Island (not actually an island) is a small peninsula, surrounded by the Mississippi River to the west and the Wolf River Harbor to the east. In 1960, the Wolf River was diverted so that it flows into the Mississippi River north of Mud Island. Mud Island River Park, located on the south end of the island, opened to the public in 1982. It is located within the Memphis city limits, 1.2 miles from the coast of downtown, and houses a museum, restaurants, and an amphitheater. It is accessible by the Memphis Suspension Railway (a monorail), by foot (via a footbridge located on top of the monorail), by ferry, or automobile.
