My two boys in the mud - they only went ankle deep - but still fun! It is very sticky stuff as well. I decided it was then time to go home - as there was the temptation to go deeper, or further out, which can be dangerous.
The fields have changed from white to mud, large puddles over still frozen ground.
After this shot had been taken I had to make quite an effort to release my boots and the tripod from the grasping soil.

I turned the sprinkler on this week for the garden and instead of playing in the water like good little kids they decided to get muddy. Very very muddy. They danced in the mud, participated in mud flinging, applied mud make-up and overall got very very muddy. We took a preliminary hose shower outside, stripped down outside, showered inside and then took a nice soapy bath following the festivities.

Yet to confirm the history on this one be I believe it was once the local hospital as all the signs point to this.

It's the time of year when we see the ducks and other birds gathering to go south to a new food supply. It's also a dangerous time for the critters. We scared these ducks while out on a sunset boat cruise. Earlier in the day, a friend was out in his Kayak and observed nature and death. One of this duck species hustled into the "safety" of cattails to escape the boater. A mink was hiding, grabbed the duck and pulled it under to drown it. Lunch.
