CN L30721-21 pulls into BNSF's Eola Yard with Windmills for Garden City, KS. A vintage GE set of BCOL & CN power makes the view all the more worthwhile. Once the BNSF recrews, this will become their U CNIGDN1 24A.

The Wigeon is a medium-sized duck with a round head and small bill. The head and neck of the male are chestnut, with a yellow forehead, pink breast and grey body. In flight, Wigeons show white bellies, male Wigeons also have a large white wing patch. Wigeons breed in central and northern Scotland and also in northern England. Many birds visit the UK over winter from Iceland, Scandinavia and Russia. With large numbers of wintering birds at a few UK sites, it is an Amber List species. (RSPB).
Easily panicked is the Wigeon. This is a large group of wigeon settling down again after who knows what set them off! They only moved about 20 feet! (Just over 6m). At one point they where walking on land in a vee formation, the bravest of them leading the way… then something would spook them and it was back to the water, quick as you like.

I have found pictures I took of this building back as far as 2011
I always thought this building looked like a school but didn't know for sure.
Sometime after that it disappeared In 2019, we noticed a sign on a building that I am sure we had driven past numerous times on remote dirt road not noticing it before on Henrys cut off. I couldn't imagine the school being this far from town between 1898 & 1935
I didn't recognize it as being the same building. After comparing the two different pictures taken years apart, I realize why. When the new owner moved it he put a different front on it. Looks like he added windows to the side also,
This fall we drove past where we thought the school was located. Each time we though somehow, we missed it. We decided something had happed to it again.
I wrote to a Facebook friend who is very knowledgeable about the area's history
He told me it had been moved back to Henry. I had driven past it several times without noticing it.

Commonwealth-Edison No. 15 pauses in-between switch moves at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, IL. The photo was taken during a CNW night photo session, and No. 15 was busy moving engines around for the next photo.

This is George's take on the classic matrix move. I think he watches too much TV (no really, he does). In this photo he is jumping for sand. I don't know why he does it...when he catches a clump of sand he doesn't seem to enjoy it. But in any case, it makes him happy. :)

Limestone moved from Escanaba to Empire mine from the CNW era through the WC era into the CN. Sometime in the CN era this business was lost to trucks as the limestone was unloaded at Marquette and trucked to both Empire and Tilden. It was always neat to catch a train with limestone loads heading up to the mines. WC 7507 and 7505 have 108 cars trailing them on SORE 2 at Little Lake on July 25, 1999.
A massive sand train 8 units and two crews work toward Carbondale, PA as it passes Winton. Four Alco products up front and four placed mid-train is what was done on this day to move the 82 loads. Delaware-Lackawanna always puts on a good show.

As we made our move from one shooting location to this last spot in a pasture located in Julian Price Park along the Blue Ridge Parkway, the first thing we encountered was a herd of about a dozen cows, some bedded and others standing wondering what this intrusion was all about. As we crested the hill the valley below the tree erupted in howls, barks and yelps as a group of coyotes moved out ahead of our approach. With the quietness of the night returning and our eyesight adjusting to the dark silhouette of Grandfather Mountain and the massive lone oak, accentuated by the layer of fog forming in the near valley came into view…A fine night to be out photographing the Milky Way in western North Carolina…

The Brown Pelican in breeding plumage takes to the skies near La Jolla Cove, California. The brown pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) is a bird of the pelican family, Pelecanidae, one of three species found in the Americas and one of two that feed by diving into water. It is found on the Atlantic Coast from New Jersey to the mouth of the Amazon River, and along the Pacific Coast from British Columbia to Peru, including the Galapagos Islands.
