Motors Limited (later known as the Leyland Motor Corporation) was a British vehicle manufacturer of lorries, buses and trolleybuses.
Founded: 1896; 126 years ago (as Lancashire Steam Motor Company)
Leyland Motors has a long history dating from 1896, when the Sumner and Spurrier families founded the Lancashire Steam Motor Company in the town of Leyland in North West England. Their first products included steam powered lawn mowers. The company's first vehicle was a 1.5-ton-capacity steam powered van. This was followed by a number of undertype steam wagons using a vertical fire-tube boiler. By 1905 they had also begun to build petrol-engined wagons. The Lancashire Steam Motor Company was renamed Leyland Motors in 1907 when it took over Coulthards of Preston, who had been making steam wagons since 1897. They also built a second factory in the neighbouring town of Chorley which still remains today as the headquarters of the Lex Autolease and parts company.

The Sand Motor was built as coastal protection. The no access sign was there because of research activities (unknown to me). It looked like such a contrast to the wide open coastal landscape.

From a visit to McFeeters Motor Museum in Forbes NSW, Australia. A beautiful collection of vehicles from a time when motor cars were a work of art as well as a mode of transport.

October 2, 2021 - Went to Jeff Lane Motor Museum in Nashvile, Tennessee. This place is fantastic! Over 500 vehicles. I've been to one of the best car museums in the U.S., Petersen Auto Museum in L.A. but this one is right up there with it. Specializes in foreign cars and unique vehicles. Half of these I'd never seen or heard of. Well worth going to.

The Sand Motor is an artificial peninsula made of no less than 21.5 million m3 of sea sand. Under the influence of wind, waves and currents, the beach sand gradually spreads along the coast. This gigantic sandbox thus contributes naturally to our coastal maintenance.
The Sand Motor was constructed off the coast of Ter Heijde and Kijkduin in 2011. It is a large artificial sandbank in the shape of a peninsula. Ocean currents, wind and waves have been given free rein to spread the sand along the Delfland coast between Hoek van Holland and Scheveningen. The Sand Motor is important as a driver for innovative coastal maintenance. Dozens of researchers from various universities and knowledge institutes have been closely following the development of the Sand Motor since its construction.

Looking very sorry for itself, Millport Motors UVG Urbanstar bodied Dennis Dart N804GRV is seen here dumped at the back of the depot on West Bay Road, Millport.
The bus was originally built in 1996 as a demonstrator for UVG before passing onto Millport Motors the following year. I guess it was a very reliable machine as it was used by the operator until 2015 when it was withdrawn as a result of it not being DDA compliant.
Sadly since then, the Dart has fallen into a state of disrepair which is a shame as I don’t think there’s many of these UVG bodied examples left in existence today. Hopefully one day this one may be saved but I’d imagine it’ll cost a fortune to get it restored to its former glory.
Honda has produced many different designs of motor bikes in the 50 to 90 cc range. Cheap, reliable, basic transportation, used all over the world.
