A bit of experimentation with this one, tried a mono conversion for this, as the dramatic clouds certainly stood out for me.

Strange cloud formation during sunset over Mono Lake. it was pretty nice to see the clouds changing second by second.

Mono Lake is a large, shallow saline soda lake in Mono County, California, formed at least 760,000 years ago as a terminal lake in an endorheic basin. The lack of an outlet causes high levels of salts to accumulate in the lake. These salts also make the lake water alkaline.
This 12 image panorama is of California's Mono Lake as viewed from a vista point on Highway 395 between Bridgeport and Lee Vining.
The water was nice and still, just right for a LE shot of this iconic bridge. Processed in CS6 converted to mono with Silverefex pro.

When presented with such dull conditions like this and in between the rain showers, I had to try a long exposure shot with my two remaining filters, Hitech 10 Stop IR ND plus a 2 stop soft ND grad.

Mono Lake is believed to be 1-3 million years old and one of the oldest lakes in North America. The tufa towers rise out of the water due to the unique water chemistry. It is almost 3 times as salty as the ocean.
I was in the neighborhood, so this I couldn't resist to take a shot at this location. Mono Lake sunset, California USA.

Mono Lake is een zoutmeer in de Amerikaanse staat Californië, in Mono County. Het ligt tussen de Sierra Nevada en de White Mountains, ten oosten van Yosemite National Park. Mono Lake staat bekend om de grillig gevormde zoutpilaren nabij de zuidwestelijke oever. De saliniteit (het zoutgehalte) is met 7,5% ruim tweemaal zo hoog als zeewater (3,5%).
Het meer is een zeer productief ecosysteem, en van grote betekenis voor talloze vogelsoorten die in de omgeving leven.
