Shhh... don't tell anyone, but I collect swag from this dot com company called Modo that expired in 2000. Actually, I'm kind of obsessed with this stuff. They made this little page thing that updated itself every night with all sorts of TimeOut NY-esque content. They were around some 90 days before they burnt through $40m (!!). Pretty amazing.
A lot of the ideas for dodgeball kind of came from this thing (mobile + cityguide), esp since I was working at Vindigo at the time.
Anyway, more here:

Letojanni is a comune (municipality), and coastal resort in the Province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, located about 170 km east of Palermo and about 32 km southwest of Messina. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,634 and an area of 6.8 km².Letojanni borders the following municipalities: Castelmola, Forza d'Agrò, Gallodoro, Mongiuffi Melia, Taormina.Main economic activities are agriculture and fishing. Products mostly cultivated are corn, olives, wine-grapes, almonds, lemons, mulberries, fruit. Interesting is the yearly manifestation "Agosto a Letojanni" (August at Letojanni) in which the festival of fish and water-melon and the parade of the Sicilian cart take place. It is also to underline the strong inclination of territory to tourism. In fact in the place there is a good receptive offer both hotel and camping supplied with facilities fit to receive very many tourists especially during summer.The etymology of Letojanni is a mixture of Latin and Arabic. The place-name derives in fact from Latin Laetum,that is "rich", and from Arabic Ayn, that means "spring". There are not many information about origin of the little town but it is known that until half of the XVIII century it has been under the jurisdiction of Gallodoro town. In the XIX century it was involved in a high economic increase and in 1880 it gained administrative equality with Gallodoro. The earthquake of 1908 damaged some of its buildings later rebuilt. In 1952 it became an independent commune. The most interesting monuments are the Parish Church in neogothic style, rebuilt in 1929 and keeps inside a beautiful picture of Piety of 1700. An important figure original of Letojanni is the famous surgeon Francesco Durante (1844-1934), who was teacher of surgery of the joints and bony at the University of Studies of Roma and he was together with Guido Baccelli founder of the General hospital of Roma and finally he was also named senator of the Reign.

Nel XIX secolo fu interessata da un notevole sviluppo economico e nel 1880 ottenne la parità amministrativa con Gallodoro. One of the best figures in the last years, the long awaited Grimlock Masterpiece. He has amazing details and gimmicks, and he's a great homeage to the G1 version.
It's worth every penny and it's an excellent way to commemorate the 250th figure in my collection.
From a distance, it can take a moment to realize that a Mourning Dove is not some kind of exotic shore bird. Just a local spending some time at the beach. — at Allenhurst Beach Club.

2). ROME - 'Ivan and Hayley' revealed! Tourist who carved his name into Colosseum wall is a fitness instructor who lives in Bristol (and Italian police would like to have a word with him…). Daily Mail, U.K., (29/06/2023).
Bulgarian born Ivan, 27, [= Ivan Dimitrov, 27, allegedly] was in Rome with his long-term girlfriend Hayley Bracey - Rome officials were furious at the vandalism and vowed to track the culprit down.
In a statement released this afternoon a spokesman for the Carabinieri said: 'Following investigations, subsequent to the complaint presented by the Colosseum Park Authority, the Carabinieri of the Command of Rome Piazza Venezia, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor of Rome, have identified, through traditional investigations and photographic comparison, the person seriously suspected of be responsible for engraving his own name and that of his partner, at the Colosseum, filming the scene, then published on social media.
'The Carabinieri have ascertained that it is a couple, man and woman, residing in England.
'It should be noted that the proceeding is in the preliminary investigation phase, therefore the suspect must consider himself innocent until a final sentence is issued.'
Meanwhile in a statement Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano said: 'I am grateful to the Arma dei Carabinieri for having promptly identified the alleged perpetrator of the uncivilized and absurd act committed at the Colosseum.
'An act that has offended all those throughout the world who appreciate the value of archaeology, monuments and history.
'Now I hope that justice will take its course by rigorously applying the laws. If it comes to a trial, the Ministry of Culture will appear as a civil party'.

LONDRA. Eccolo, il turista che ha sfregiato il Colosseo incidendo sui muri millenari dell’Anfiteatro Romano i nomi “Ivan and Hailey, 23”. Ebbene Ivan, ossia colui che si è macchiato dell’oltraggio che potrebbe costargli carissimo, sarebbe il 27enne Ivan Dimitrov: un ragazzo bulgaro nato a Roma. Mentre Hailey sarebbe la fidanzata inglese Hayley Bracey, 33 anni.
A sostenerlo è un’esclusiva del Daily Mail. Ivan Dimitrov, che avrebbe anche un secondo cognome (Hawkins), sarebbe un fitness trainer che lavora a Bristol e che in passato ha fatto anche il fattorino. Hayley Bracey, invece, avrebbe un’azienda nel settore dell’alimentazione sportiva. I due, sempre secondo il tabloid, vivrebbero alla periferia di Bristol, a Keynsham, non lontano dalla palestra Longwell Green dove Dimitrov lavora.
La coppia però al momento non si troverebbe in Inghilterra. Secondo alcuni muratori ascoltati dal Daily Mail che stanno lavorando a casa di Dimitrov e Bracey i due “sono andati via la scorsa settimana e non torneranno prima di 15 giorni. Ci hanno detto che stanno girando l’Europa”.
Una fonte dei carabinieri dall'Italia conferma al tabloid: “Sono entrambi residenti nel Regno Unito, abbiamo identificato l’uomo, non ancora la donna. Il primo è di origine bulgara, la seconda britannica”. La madre di Harley smentisce: “Non è possibile, mia figlia non può aver fatto una cosa del genere, non lo farebbe mai”.
