More tweaking of my favorite downtown Austin night shot. I have adjusted the white balance on this one to something more accurate to what I saw. I shot this in Raw (Nikon D70). I changed the white balance settings to "Auto", then took out 13 units of red, subtracted 1 EV of exposure, and added some more sharpening.
It doesn't have the dramatic effect of what came out of my camera, but it is more accurate to what I saw.
What do you think?
This interlined and self-lined valance is finished with cording and contrasting micro-cording and a handmade bead tassel.

Every cattle waterer at Circle Ranch has been modified as shown in this picture, to make it accessible to small animals and quail. What you see are concrete bags that have been pinned through with rebar which is welded into a “T” and driven through the bag and into the ground. Where multiple bags are stacked the rebar goes through all the bags. This stacking and pinning makes the ramps strong-enough to withstand the pushing and jostling of the large cattle herds, sometimes 1,000 animals, that we periodically run in order to bring brief, intense animal impact to the plants. Inside the trough is an expanded metal ramp. That allows small animals and birds to walk down to the water’s edge. It also allows animals to get out of the water if they fall in, which they often do: these drowned animals foul the water as they rot. Quail have to water with their feet wet, and a water trough with the water surface 6 inches below the rim, as shown here, is unusable because the water level is unreachable, and in fact a hazard to the small birds and animals who try to reach down to it.
Many ranchers assume that because they have water troughs, wildlife can use their water: this is not so unless the water troughs are modified to be usable. Most wildlife managers are single-species specialists, and consequently are thinking about a particular species, like deer or sheep, when they install these water features. They generally do not think of making them usable for the full suite of wildlife. Texas quail biologists generally agree that quail do not need supplemental water: they give little thought to making existing water available to small animals and birds. This particular modification was taught to us by a New Mexico game biologist who specializes in desert quail. I have never seen it shown in the agency literature of Texas wildlife practices.

And the final stage of Ronnies first Paseo before it was accident damaged, sold on and made into a rat. Ronnie had a bump with the bumper in the next photo on, and decided due to a damaged bonnet, that a badboy bonnet and a new bumper was needed. This is yet another custom aftermarket mix. I feel that, as far as bodykits go, this looks quite smart. The 19" multispokes, though completely impractical, look incredibly smart.
