An HO scale BNSF coal train passes the fictional Mineral Spring Station and its "Amshack" depot. Great Train Story exhibit, Museum of Science & Industry.
Did a little bit of weathering on these units from what picutres I found online of them. It seems they just wiped off some of the drit and then painted out the old NS logos.

I bought this model yesterday, I have other versions of this type of gas turbine engine, but, have always liked these engines. These are the seller's photos from the sale listing. I plan to re-power the model at some point since they are not great running models from the maker.
Here are a few older HO scale brass models of articulated steam locomotives. I am not a great photographer, but, I do the best I can with what I have. All photos are of different models, even though you may see several of the same type of engine in this set. Katsumi Models - D&RGW L-105 4-6-6-4 Challenger Type Imported by Max Gray 1962. Here are a few short video clips of the C&O Allegheny engine on the test track. After looking at the photos that I posted yesterday, I noticed a few details that needed attention. The steam pipes to the rear cylinders were not level, I had to make some adjustments there, also, I noticed that I missed the rear handrail loop when feeding the handrail on to the boiler on the engineer's side., another quick fix. My biggest problem now is getting good video, I'm trying to hold my iphone and operate the engine at the same time, it's like texting and driving, they don't mix. The result are terrible quality video, but, I figured I would post them anyway so everyone can suffer along with me! : )
Started putting this together today live with Kris of Go/Via/orgohome. So if you want to see it being built by me a couple of other people check it out here www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RbcbJtbFEM It is part of a group build.

Faller's "Car System" consists of battery-powered road vehicles that drive over a invisible magnet rail under the road. They also have lights. Not good enough for the Wunderland.
They pimp each vehicle with an infra-red interface that switches the light on and off in reference to the daylight and works the indicators and break lights, also siren and blue light on emergency vehicles.
The cars aren't bound on the same route at all btw. The computer generates an autonomous route for every car, considering traffic lights, road blocks and other cars. There are also two speed traps including tiny digital displays to indicate the speed. Cars that are to fast actually stop and get a ticket.

Call it graffiti, urban art or vandalism, I admittedly enjoy seeing it on the sides of old rail cars. This time it was on the side of a Rail Box car, RBOX 34952, which I shot sitting in the NS yard in Columbia, South Carolina

This is one of my train display cases. I have been collecting HO scale brass steam locomotives for many years and have accumulated over 1,000 of them. Anyone interested in buying brass engines can contact me at bflook1@comcast,net
After moving into our new home I began benchwork construction for my new HO layout. The benchwork is standard box grid construction using 1x4 lumber with two sheets of extruded foam for a subroadbed. The trackplan is a point to point beginning in a small yard with engine terminal, passing through Bay City, crossing the Saginaw River, and ending at a Consumers Power facility. The river section will feature a lake boat and have a lift out bridge that will allow a continious running loop.

I am currently starting this restoration project. These are the before photos of a Trains, Inc. and Soho Imports tender. Union Pacific gas turbine locomotive and tender, both made by Kumata (KMT) Japan. This second generation gas turbine will represent #64 equipped with the original tender when completed. The photos that I posted a few days ago of another gas turbine models represents the #61 locomotive with the round tender. See my other sets for more photos.

One of the most realistic modern diesel locomotives I've ever seen in HO Scale. Athearn got this right in more ways than one. Part of Athearn's Genesis line this locomotive is truly gorgeous. When I saw that one of the vendor's at the recent "World's Greatest Hobby" show in Saint Paul, MN had several of these I had to check it out. At a price I couldn't refuse I ended up taking one home with me. This beautiful locomotive features Soundtraxx's Tsunami sound and very realistic detail work all around. I swapped out the couplers and put Kadee # 5's on both the front and rear. I haven't had the chance to test the pulling power but if it's like any other Athearn I've seen or owned it's going to be great.
Pros:
- Awesome detail work for a (stock) locomotive that isn't brass.
- Amazing sound (Soundtraxx Tsunami sound).
- Excellent paint work.
Cons:
- Extremely fragile handrails.
- Dim ditch lights.
