An indoor miniature golf course. So what happens to this stuff? Did the owner just leave it all here, or does it belong to the mall?

I like the idea of a miniature golf course in a mall, especially at $5 a round (assuming 18 holes). However, if the foot traffic isn't there, the business will fail.

This series documents the ‘miniatures’ created by my Grandmother. I aimed to capture these tiny shops, markets, pubs and dwellings in a way that may evoke feelings of nostalgia and give insight into ‘how we used to live’, many of her miniature set ups represent a bygone era, home baked bread and tables set for family meals are for many now a thing of the past.

The collection of photographs may appear to be similar to those from a tourist trip, like a record of the places I have visited, and some will look like images from inside a home, holding childhood memories. However the photos explore the years my Gran has dedicated to inventing and constructing another world. I wanted to create a series of images that is playful and could tell a make-believe story but also delves into the idea of memory and loss.

These pictures were taken at a wonderful little shop, Miniature Occasions and Dolls in Newport, Rhode Island. In addition to doll houses and furniture, the shop is full of dolls and marionettes. Visit if you are ever in Newport or look at their catalog on-line.

Found these miniature wooden reels suitable to the Sunshine Family Doll size. I have seen them sold as miniatures glued in trays - bought some and were very hard to get out - I wouldn't recommend that. I ended up finding some being sold loose in packets of 15. They came in just 6 colours and I wanted to more colours like you would normally find. So I removed the existing thread leaving the blank reels and then processed to wrap them with 30 different colours for the threads in the stand and another 6 in the basket.

The first one I did by holding the reel in my hand – yeah not fun. And as I wanted to do a lot more (the stand actually hold 95 reels) I had to figure out a better way to do that. I thought I had taken a picture of what I ended up using but alas I must of imagined it. I was basically a clamp from a helping hand tool (the clamps wrapped in foam to protect the wood). I’d clamp the reel and then thread them from there. I want to do a couple more so I can try and remember to take a picture later.

The basket contains the ‘specialty threads’ along with 3 invisible hem thread reels.

The prototype stand was designed by my partner and needs some tweaking, the width and height of each reel slot needs to be reduced a little. I haven’t glued them in nor do I plan to and yes I have spilt them a couple of times which a whole lot of fun to put back together (not lol).

I've had these miniature Pepsi bottles and paper carrying case since I was a kid and I don't remember where I got them or who gave them to me. The bottles measure just a tad under 2.5 inches tall.

Very miniature - only a few badland hills - still an interesting area to wander through... Being mid-October very quiet, had the place to myself...

My weekend road trip, Calgary to Grande Prairie (northern Alberta) and back, taking a few unorthodox driving routes... And taking extra days on either side of the weekend, to take in a few more sights...

This is an intermediate picture of our latest minatures project for our miniatures club- it is a 10" round vignette that can be viewed from both sides and is a "wall" that separates an interior from an exterior.

Here is a (blurry) closeup of the paper clay exterior as I finished modeling it. Once it dries, I will paint it. This project was supposed to be a way for me to demonstrate the paper clay technique to our other members, but no one really went along and followed all of the steps the way I was taught by miniaturist Rik Pierce, so no one's looks like mine.

Every year Santa Claus gives presents to kids and adults. But has he ever received any present himself? The Tyran of Cardboardia has made up his mind to make Santa Claus happy by building for him the miniature Cardboard town!!! This town was build by kids and adults, who are getting presents from Ded Moroz, to pay the tribute and made the construction of the most amazing gift for the most generous personage in the world!

Игрушечный Картонный Город мы построили за январские праздники вместе с детьми и взрослыми. Это подарок для Деда Мороза от Тирана и других Персонажей Картонии, а также всех строителей Игрушечного Картонного Города.
