Shot a few miniatures for a friend. Except for the bronze statue, I'm not too happy with them as I should have taken detail shots of the building scene with the macro lens instead of crops. Oh well. Some other time.
We had a visit to the Morris Museum this weekend, where they had a special Lego exhibit on. The creations were astonishing! We were also thrilled by the dollhouse exhibit and delighted by the miniature scenes.
A tiny, miniature bridge. Actually a normal footbridge, but tilt-shift effects are cool.

My first attempt to create a miniature journal. It is made from vintage salvaged materials, in the exact same technique as my other vintage journals, only this one measures only 5.2 x 6.5 cm (2 x 2.6 inches).
My Mom and I stumbled upon these miniature horses out in the Texas hill country.
These two miniature horses were scratching each others' back. It was an interesting display of interaction. When one stopped, the other stopped. When one started, the other started back scratching. Animals are amazing.
Not a miniature I'm remotely happy with, but I've uploaded it for completeness. I'm not too keen on these plastic figures; the heads mount too low, the features are too angular and they're too bulky for a goblin in my opinion. Plus, it's very easy to pose them in a way that leaves hard to paint nooks and crannies. They don't seem "special" either, and lack charm and character. Plastic might be a godsend to people with an army to build, but for someone who's a painter only metal minis are better.
This is a three piece compass necklace I made for Kim for Christmas 2011. Remove the cork and pin. Fill the necklace with water and put the cork in. The metal is magnetized and should point toward the center/top of the necklace.
