Miniature poodle spotted at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens yesterday. This little guy caught my eye, because he looks very similar to my brother's dog.
I usually show items i've made from fabric, i thought today would be a fine day to show a work in progress i painted over the weekend. Although i certainly feel more at ease with my foot on the sewing machine petal working with various textiles, i had a really nice fun time.
Hope your Monday is off to a good start.
Have a beautiful week.
Love to you.

The Watford Miniature in Cassiobury Park near Watford (Met) station is a 10 1/4 inch gauge line which opened in 1959. My visit on 17 September 2019 took advantage of the experimental weekday opening through September, which, I was told, would not be repeated as it has not been commercially viable. The loco seen here is "Conway Castle", a diesel-hydraulic built in 1972 by Fenlow Engineering for use at Prestatyn.

This is the last miniature for now - the paintings go in the mail today. This one was inspired by my brother-in-law's grandmother at her wood burning cook stove. I simplified the image lots, but it's still a little busy. Some of the edges are a bit too hard for my taste as well, but I decided that it was done - not more fussing. Maybe somebody will like the nostalgia of the piece.

Continue our miniature Oribana project ... This is a mini version of our Oribana composition called AWAITING from our Oribana Delight collection.
We scaled down this oribana composition before, but never to this size. The whole Oribana is just 4 inches (10 cm) high with the rose being only 1-1/4 inch (3 cm) in diameter.
The featured origami designs are Tea Rose with leaves & stalks and our Cylindrical Vase. Used wonderful washi, hand-made Japanese paper Moriki Kozo for the rose, vase & some.leaves and somegami the greens.
The diagrams are published in our ORIBANA DELIGHT

Okay, I am NUTS for miniatures. It has always been this way. When I went to museums when I was a kid, my parents had to literally drag me away from the miniature rooms. Seriously, if I hadn't of been so tired, I would have photographed every one of these. I'm crazy about them and they're beautiful!
As a theatre major, I had to take miniature-building classes, in order for building theatrical models of scenery and stuff. I learned a lot of good techniques and tricks and had a lot of fun, but this is so far above my level of expertise, that it's mind blowing! Haha.. anyway, yeah, I've spent like 3 hours building a tiny chair before, so I can't imagine how much work went into these.
I should note that when photographed well, these rooms are indistinguishable from an actual, full-size room.
Setting up a quick scene with my new Re-Ment goodies. Its what I imagine a nice Sunday brunch with a good friend would look like =)
