To get started into the LEGO season 2019, I decided to build a small one at first. Primarily to continue practicing photography and image editing. Happy new year everybody!
Boys made a practical joke on Dutch (aka Gold Leader) as they replaced his workhorse to a miniature version of Y-wing awhile he was taking a nap. Unfortunately he can't fly with this thing. It's main purpose is to sit on the shelf and just look nice.
Minnesota is known as the "Land of 10,000 Lakes". In reality, there are 11,842 lakes of 10 acres or more. There are so many lakes in fact, that there are over 200 'Mud Lakes', 150 'Long Lakes' and 120 'Rice Lakes'....MN is the main producer of wild rice in the US.
The "lake" in the foreground of this photo measured about 3 feet wide and a few inches deep, so it obviously doesn't classify as a lake. It does sit on the rocky shore of an actual lake that stretches out to an island in the distance, which made for an interesting photo.
There is already a 'Tiny Lake' in Northeastern Minnesota, so instead I will name this vast body of water, 'Micro Lake'

I like Birch trees in autimn. Their leaves remind me of jewels when the sun lights them from the back.
Diamond Bus 40705 StreetDeck is pictured on Portland Street outside the Britannia Hotel whilst working on Route 37. It wears an all over advert for Good Employment Week which took place 4 months ago!
These ones were pretty tiny, making good macro subjects, so I would say this is just under 1:1 reproduction. I like the variation they show, some turn pink, some have white centers, others a yellow ring.

I thought I'd try something different tonight and go for a micro nature scene. I really like the result.

I wanted to make a micro version of the Forgotten Temple as well as make instructions for it. The instructions are free on my rebrickable page (link in bio) So if you want to make this or the Micro Hunters Dream for yourself you can. If you are just curious to see how they go together you are more than welcome to take a look.
I do want to make instructions more often for my builds but they do take a lot longer to finish and test. I also like to use odd pieces in my builds that aren’t available digitally which limits a lot of options for making builds, so unfortunately I won’t make instructions for every build I post.
I’m wanting to make micro versions of every show build I make because I have to take them apart pretty quickly afterwards and the shows are pretty much the only time I get to see them fully assembled. I do like to keep little souvenirs from the show builds but a tiny version is a nice little display piece to act as a reminder of what I have made. Who knows maybe after 50 years I can just display the micro builds instead…
The Lipstick Building is a 453-foot tall skyscraper located at 885 Third Avenue, between East 53rd Street and 54th Street, across from the Citigroup Center in Manhattan, New York City, United States. It was completed in 1986 and has 34 floors.
Happenstance build while sorting through the curved slopes and found these dark red in quantity. Not perfect but it will do for now until something better comes up...
