mermaid_chimera on a rock. I love the braids.
Strobist details: Two bare Godox TT600's at partial power right next to each other to the right, in high-speed-sync mode so I could keep the aperture at f/2.8 and paired so I wasn't waiting for them to recycle all the time, triggered by the XProO in my hotshoe.
I forgot to take a picture of her as a mermaid. I put her on an extra Tooth Fairy I had. I'm so happy her pixelation isn't as major as I've seen on some of these dolls. You have to get really close to see it.

Always fun to photograph, the Coney Island Mermaid Parade doesn't disappoint. Full of amazing costumes and makeup.
Mermaid doll- all wool fabric and stuffing. 15" tall more here- mimikirchner.com/blog/archives/2005/10/mermaid/
With a nod to one of the most popular summer events in Brooklyn, the Mermaid Parade is a magical water ride for kids with rich imaginations. Jump inside a colorful gondola and embark on a kiddie flume inspired by the subterranean world of mermaids. It’s up and over the slope, a cruise through the mystical tunnel and out into the bright sunshine at the beach in Coney Island.
My first fixed lens, Nikkor 50 mm f1.8D, after I've got it 2-3 days ago (09/03/09) and I just tried to learn from this lens. It's a very good fast lens better than my Tamron 18-270 at same range but a bit pretty hard for me cos I've get used to "ZooM". This is my first good picture from 50 mm f1.8D of my mermaid sculpture.
This mermaid dress is the cheapest dress I ever bought; it was only 8 euros. Nevertheless it is a pretty dress and I love wearing it. I like the shiny fish scale look, the flaring skirt and the strech fabric that makes it super comfortable to wear.

Yep its a mermaid right enough and she's not too far from the water either .. a child's toy that got left behind could be .. her tails come adrift but the bottom part is there on top of the post waiting for a little girl with a bit more TLC than what some enterprising bod has done screwing her to the post in two places .. with that theres no chance she will get lost again . Neptune would be horrified at this crucifixion of a mermaid !
