I was expecting the Schnabel train to hold for the two westbounds to pass, but as soon as the previous eastbound cleared it got back on the move. So much for catching it at Verona, I hightailed it to Mazon where I was dismayed to see the Rt47 crossing flashers light up just as I got into town. I knew that I wouldn't make it to the Depot St crossing in time, but them I remembered a west side pedestrian crossing so I zipped over to find the oncoming train still on the other side of Rt47. Great, I had plenty of time to cross safely to the other side for a sunny side catch.

The Kennedy family owned & managed the Merchandise Mart (once the largest building in the world w/ 4 million square feet) from 1945 - 1997. According to the very interesting Wikipedia page: "The Mart centralized Chicago's wholesale goods business by consolidating vendors and trade under a single roof. Massive in its construction, and serving as a monument to early 20th century merchandising and architecture, the art deco landmark anchors the daytime skyline at the junction of the Chicago River branches. With upper levels bathed in colored floodlight, the structure stands out against darker downtown buildings in night views. The building continues to be a leading retailing and wholesale destination, hosting 20,000 visitors and tenants per day."
This photo shows the back n front of the Kanji List Card. The card lists all the kanji that Moekanji covers which are the First Grade Kanji that all elementary school kids learn in Japan.
Keep this card in your wallet and look at it when you have downtime waiting for a bus or train - I used to do something similar when I was learning Japanese.

Only a handful of people in the world know the true recipe for Coca-Cola! :)
Amongst other things, the drink was originally sold as a tonic and claimed benefits to health, and contained cocaine. Most of the ingredients are published and known (sugar, caffeine, citric acid, lime juice, vanilla extract, coca extract), but it’s the main flavouring, Merchandise 7X, which has been kept secret for over 125 years.
There have been countless reports that the secret recipe was discovered or leaked. The ingredients of which read more like a scent list than a beverage - Orange, Lemon and Nutmeg Oil, Coriander, Neroli and Cinnamon!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

The entrance of Merchandise Mart features carved busts of leading Chicago merchandisers of the day. A few of them can be seen on the tops of the green-coloured columns at the front of the building (in the lower foreground)
When opened in 1930, the Merchandise Mart or the Merch Mart, located in the Near North Side, Chicago, Illinois, was the largest building in the world with 4,000,000 square feet (372,000 m2) of floor space.[1][2] Previously owned by the Marshall Field family, the Mart centralized Chicago's wholesale goods business by consolidating vendors and trade under a single roof.[2] Massive in its construction, and serving as a monument to early 20th century merchandising and architecture, the art deco landmark anchors the daytime skyline at the junction of the Chicago River branches. With upper levels bathed in colored floodlight, the structure stands out against darker downtown buildings in night views. The building continues to be a leading retailing and wholesale destination, hosting 20,000 visitors and tenants per day.
