The red and green lit building is the Merchandise Mart on the Chicago River.
The Merchandise Mart (or the Merch Mart, or the Mart) is a commercial building located in downtown Chicago, Illinois. When it was opened in 1930, it was the largest building in the world, with 4 million square feet (372,000 m2) of floor space. The art deco structure is located at the junction of the Chicago River's branches. The building is a leading retailing and wholesale destination, hosting 20,000 visitors and tenants per day as of the late 2000s.
Built by Marshall Field & Co. and later owned for over half a century by the Kennedy family, the Mart centralized Chicago's wholesale goods business by consolidating architectural and interior design vendors and trades under a single roof. It has since become home to several other enterprises, including the Shops at the Mart, the Chicago campus of the Illinois Institute of Art, Motorola Mobility, and the Chicago tech startup center 1871.
The Merchandise Mart is so large that it had its own ZIP Code (60654) until 2008, when the Postal Service assigned the ZIP Code to part of the surrounding area. In 2010, the building opened its Design Center showrooms to the public.
An extremely weathered caboose in Victoria, Arkansas. This caboose is believed to have operated on the Cotton Belt Railroad (SSW) though I'm not for sure.
Program: Fashion Merchandising, Brooks College. Class: Visual Merchandising. This is the merchandising lab where the fashion merchandising students get hands-on experience. The clothes, props, mannequins and dress forms were sourced by me at a variety of places - even porn shops.

Merchandise Mart in Chicago opened in 1930. With over 4-million square feet of floor-space it was the largest building in the world until the Pentagon opened in 1943. The building contains office space, wholesale showrooms, and retail space. The building has its own 'L' station.
Shots of some of the merchandise that are available free for grabs at Rhapsody’s landing point (behind the stages).
These were created just like Cinema Sponsor items last year, this year we did some merchandise found usually in Music Festivals or just music related. The brands who bought these merchandise items picked out what they wanted, and I just ran from it - taking references from their logo or previous items made.
<3 Hope you guys are having fun at Rhapsody!

i really find the ability of vendors to balance merchandises on their heads quite remarkable. it is an efficient method for carrying loads as it leaves both hands free for other uses. this practice dates back to antiquity
I hadn't been up on this platform for some time now. I think my last shot was from the other end. Train operators didn't say anything today but you could tell they wondered what I was doing. Great morning anyway; not too hot or cold. Just right!
in metro manila there is a saying, "if you can't find what you're searching for, go to divisoria". divisoria is the premier place for cheap, difficult to find merchandises. it is located in manila very close to the port area. here are some images

Okay, I'm cheating, because you're only supposed to upload photos you've taken yourself. I could argue that I took the photo of the photo. But nevermind.
I'm enthralled by this image. It was taken around 1915, and is of K. Mizutani and his wife.
I came across this photo because I'm a recipient of a National Park Service grant that is being directed at creating a traveling exhibition relating to the Japanese imprisonment during WW II, and their subsequent return to the communities from which they were removed. This photo is not relevant to my grant project, (except that his descendants were removed and did come back to operate the store) but I have spent a lot of time just looking at it and being amazed.
This fellow came to Kingsburg in 1906 a couple of years after immigrating to the states from Japan. He did farm labor and worked immensely hard. At some point he was able to get a piece of property and actually built the store by himself at night when he wasn't employed in the fields. What ambition!
The image I believe was taken around 1915.
Just look at the man and his wife. She appears to be wearing some form of kimono (?) and he, while well-dressed, is wearing a sweater with threadbare elbows.
The range of products is astounding. "Fairy Soap," "Carnation Mush Wheat Flakes," pots, pans, shoes, shirts, alarm clocks, tins of all sorts of stuff. And it appears there is some sort of cold box in the back there. So much packed into such a small space.
Excutive paint BNSF 9435 is second in the consist of the E MHSNRM 036B train. The empty Scherer coal was brought in to Memphis from Georgia by the NS who brought it to Tower 17 on the NS east for the BNSF. CSXT 5308 is on the Union Pacific main with Q531 waiting a UP crew and become the MNVNL.
Most places have these where one can see into them, looking much like cages in a dog kennel! I guess these covers on the front make for a less cluttered look up by the check lanes.
