American singer born Charles Westover on 30th December 1934.
Sprang to fame in 1961 with his single "Runaway", a highly distinctive recording featuring his trademark falsetto. Accompanied by Max Crook, his keyboard player on 'Mellotron', they fashioned a new sound that gave Del a number one hit in both the USA and Great Britain.
Del, who described himself as a sort of 'Pop Rock 'n' Roller', was probably more popular in Britain & Australia than he was in his own country.
Sadly, Del passed away on 8th February 1990 of a self inflicted gunshot wound, aged 55.
The above album, Del's 4th, was released in 1964 on the "Stateside Label", a division of EMI and included his hit version of "Handy Man", a song that was originally recorded earlier by Jimmy Jones who had great success with it.
The other tracks on the album also include material made famous by other artistes.

Attualmente festeggia il suo 50° anno come musicista professionista, tastierista, compositore e broadcaster, Rick Wakeman si esibirà in un concerto di solo pianoforte, il 3 maggio al Teatro Manzoni di Milano.
Nato nei pressi di Londra nel 1949 e diplomato all'Opera della capitale, pianista classico passato alle tastiere, Wakeman – soprannominato "la lunga chioma bionda del rock" - ha iniziato la sua carriera negli anni '60 come turnista, arrivando a incidere anche trenta pezzi l'anno. Entrato a far parte di uno dei gruppi precursori del rock sinfonico, gli Strawbs, è poi approdato ai mitici Yes, con i quali, in pratica, inventò un nuovo modo di usare le tastiere e il Minimoog, aprendo letteralmente la strada alle moderne tecniche e ai suoni del progressive-rock.
Da ottobre 2016 Rick Wakeman è impegnato con Jon Anderson e Trevor Rabin con il progetto ARW che ha fatto registrare tutti "sold out" negli Stati Uniti e sarà da marzo 2017 in tour in Europa, Israele, Giappone e poi ancora negli Stati Uniti.
Come solista ha inciso tra l'altro "The Six Wives of Henry VIII", altro successo planetario con i suoi oltre 10 milioni di copie vendute. È stato inoltre, per anni, l'arrangiatore di David Bowie con cui ha scritto la celebre "Life on Mars" e di Elton John e ha realizzato album con numerosi altri artisti, tra i quali Cat Stevens, Black Sabbath e Lou Reed.
Il 13 gennaio è uscito l'album "Piano portraits" ed è già un successo in quanto è stato ed è il primo album solista di pianoforte ad entrare nella Top 10 del Regno Unito.
Il disco è composto da 15 brani partendo da "Life on Mars" di David Bowie – canzone per la quale Rick Wakeman registrò le parti originali di pianoforte - e "Space Oddity", a cui ha contribuito con il mellotron, passando attraverso Beatles, Yes e Led Zeppelin. Oltre a pezzi classici composti da Debussy e Tchaikovsky. Ha anche aggiunto una selezione di alcuni dei suoi pezzi classici preferiti (Berceuse, Clair de Lune e Swan Lake).
Lo show comprenderà almeno otto dei pezzi dell'album, più altre sorprese musicali.
The Analogues is een Nederlandse tributeband die is opgericht in 2014. De band heeft zich ten doel gesteld het latere werk van The Beatles op de originele (analoge) instrumenten live uit te voeren. In 2015/16 toerde de band langs theaters en poppodia met Magical Mystery Tour, in 2016/17 met Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, in 2017/18 met The White Album en in 2019 met 50 Years Abbey Road Tour, bijgestaan door strijkers en blazers. The Beatles hebben deze albums nooit live gespeeld en leefden zich met producer George Martin uit op ingewikkelde arrangementen.
De band is een initiatief van Fred Gehring, gewezen topman van de Tommy Hilfiger Corporation. Hij benaderde muzikant en producer Bart van Poppel die de arrangementen van de vaak complexe Beatlesnummers uitploos en internet afstruinde naar originele instrumenten zoals de Mellotron, de Höfner-bas of een Wurlitzer-piano. De band maakte opnamen in de Abbey Road Studios die worden gebruikt bij de live-optredens.
Buiten Nederland werd opgetreden in België (o.a. Brussel), Frankrijk, Duitsland (o.a. Hamburg), Engeland (Londen, Liverpool). Op 1 juni 2017, exact 50 jaar nadat het album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band uitkwam, speelde de band het album integraal in de Ziggo Dome. Ook werd het album Magical Mystery Tour geheel uitgevoerd. Toen de shows stil kwamen te liggen door de coronapandemie besloot de band eigen nummers te schrijven en bracht in 2022 het album "Introduction The Analogues Sideshow" uit.

James Blunt è al Mediolanum Forum di Assago a Milano, per una delle tre date italiane del tour mondiale "The Afterlove Tour”, il 14 novembre.
James Hillier Blount, conosciuto come James Blunt, è un cantautore ed ex militare britannico.
James Blunt nasce a Tidworth il 22 febbraio 1974, vicino Londra. Dopo gli studi superiori, frequenta i corsi di Ingegneria Aerospaziale e Sociologia presso l'Università di Bristol, per poi dedicarsi, a partire dal 1998, alla formazione militare e completare il suo iter alla Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Infatti il padre di James era colonnello nel British Army Air Corps, e tutta la sua famiglia ha una lunga tradizione di servizio nell'esercito.
James Blunt diventa poi ufficiale presso il Life Guards Regiment, facente parte della Household Cavalry all'interno dell'esercito inglese. Raggiunge il grado di Capitano e serve come ufficiale corazzato di ricognizione nel processo di pace in Kosovo. È stato al comando di 30.000 militari a Priština, come primo ufficiale ad entrare nella capitale kosovara. È stato proprio durante questa operazione che ha scritto la canzone No bravery. Inoltre, ha prestato servizio al funerale della Regina Madre, il 9 aprile del 2002.
Il suo stile unisce musica pop, folk e rock melodico. Oltre a cantare, James Blunt è autore e polistrumentista, tra gli strumenti che suona: il pianoforte, la chitarra, l'organetto e il mellotron. Ha firmato un contratto con l'etichetta statunitense Custard Records, raggiungendo la cima della classifica dei singoli più venduti negli USA.
James Blunt ha venduto oltre 20 milioni di album in tutto il mondo e 12.8 milioni di singoli. Vanta inoltre 625 milioni di visualizzazioni su YouTube e oltre 680 milioni di stream mondiali su piattaforme streaming. Il tour precedente, Moon Landing Tour, ha visto l’artista inglese esibirsi in 140 concerti nel corso di dodici mesi.
My Days Of Future Passed vinyl album-Justin Hayward signed it for me- The Moody Blues at Blue Hills Bank Pavilion-Boston, Mass. 7-10-2017. Performed some of their hit songs for the first half of the concert--then in the second half performed their 1967 album Days Of Future Passed in its entirety. The current line-up of The Moody Blues are Justin Hayward-vocals and guitar, John Lodge-vocals and bass, and Graeme Edge-drums. Original keyboard/mellotron player Mike Pinder and flute player Ray Thomas have been retired for many years.

Emily and I had dinner with Jessica Crites today! It’s been awhile since we hung out, and hopefully now we’ll get over that hump and see each other more often. We ate at the Greenhouse and then hung out at the house for awhile. She’s been keeping busy lately, so there was plenty to catch up on! In other news, I found a couple of Mellotron sounds on my Seaboard. Of course, I was then required to learn the intro to Strawberry Fields Forever.

The Moody Blues, celebrating their 50th anniversary, played the AARP(American Assoc. of Retired People) Boston, Mass. convention-May 10, 2014. 3 original members:Justin Hayward-vocals and guitar, John Lodge-vocals and bass, Graeme Edge-drums.
Ray Thomas flute and vocals and Mike Pinder mellotron and vocals are retired from the band.
