Yesterday I went to that Japanese restaurant here in the neighborhood. For me the Tabioka is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Cologne and I have noticed that I should go there more often. It's always like a little vacation to step into this kind of interior and I always reminds me of many nice flickr friends and their exotic shots. Just to have some Japanese signs within a picture is a kind of valorizing for me. Maybe it's because I only see graphics in the lettering? Anyway, I would have the chance to travel to Japan one day to get more of these great impressions. Folks, I wish you a nice evening.

These three hornists were playing in front of the WDR a german broadcasting station in the city center. Even though the german cities are not as rocks like the american ones, nevertheless it was nice to hear the sound of the mountains in the middle of the huge crowds of people. Can you see the little animals sitting in the wide opening of the horns? The nose of the one in the middle was blinking red... funny, isn't it?! After that I walked to a little church and I took some minutes to relax. It's always the same, outside there are masses, inside there is silence... That's what I'm looking for. Folks, I'm very happy with the shot today. I came home late, and I promise that I had no idea, and not one minute of me-time today. So I decided to give myself one last chance to do my daily shot, while making a walk through the neighborhood to get some fresh air. And then it happened! Just a few steps away, I found the gate to the playground of the primary school open. I saw the orange and the light grey, and I knew that this could be the thing! Normally I won't say it, but I really like this one. I like the shadows, the light grey and the fresh orange indeed. So I can post it and get back to work. Thanks my friends for your kind comments and faves!
Sometimes it pays just to stop, breathe and recharge.

Today there was parents evening in Antony's school. We talked with different teachers about the situation in the class and we got some very useful hints for the future. Nevertheless, beside the lectureship school is also a kind of punishment and gratification institution which is very disputable. Everything is aligned to boost the self-confidence not the feeling of self-worth of a human being... but this is only my humble opinion and nothing more. Thanks folks for following my s**t on flickr.

Today it's time for another especial shop window in town. This one here is a dispensing optician with a very extensive decoration. Maybe I should invest into a polarizing filter to get rid of the reflexions, maybe I should neglect this kind of boring shots. But anyhow, i'm always happy to see a nice shop window in the age of 1$ shops. Folks, I wish you a nice evening.
I went for a walk this afternoon to Lakeview Beach. Though I am sad that summer has come to a close I am happy that it is fall because it is my favorite season. A bit chilly today, I had my sweatshirt on, but I still took off my shoes and put my feet in the cold wet sand. I feel so fortunate that I live so close to such a beautiful place. Every season brings something different but they are all equally as beautiful.
Sitting at the beach today reminded me that we all need to slow down just a bit and enjoy all that is around us. We can't go through life so fast that we don't see the beauty in our world. I have been very busy lately but am glad that I was able to take a bit of time for myself today.

To achieve this shot I added an editorial action layered with a vintage action. I then added a slight texture as an overlay. A bit different from my norm but I have really been trying to be more creative lately. I have been trying to think outside the box and broaden my horizons.
Home filled with lots of flowers, just the way I like it. Freshly squeezed watermelon juice + Kinfolk magazine, a me-time in the evening. Lovely day indeed :-)

Have a look at this friendly guy. I know it's friday evening and everybody has enough other things to do and I also know that at the weekends flicker pauses and life must go on. But it is not in my hand where and when the great moments are coming to me. I saw him sitting in front of the cathedral here in cologne and so I took place near him. After a while of sitting around and looking at the people passing by, watching, eating or talking, I said hello. He said sorry and that he was asleep because he is so tired today... After this intro we talked for about 30 minutes about everything. Later he was so honest to say that he's in a big trouble regarding his flat and that a lawyer is trying to help him, so that he can go back to his flat before autumn. Despite the fact that he was smelling a bit, he was not drunken and very awake in his head as you can see in his eyes. He told me that he was a musician in the past, with a record contract with a british label as a singer and drummer. Donna what is true or not, but the conversation was very interesting and friendly. I can't say this for the most of my conversations during the day... Folks, I wish you a nice evening and thanks for following my shit on flickr.

Honikmelone is a word. But it's unique because it is a misspelling based to the german word "Honigmelone" which means rock melon. So in english it could be "Rocc Melon" or something like this. All around cologne you find this signs but I couldn't figure out what the meaning is. You find it along walls, on doors, on junction boxes and other public furnitures in the streets. Have you ever seen it somewhere else in the world out there? I guess it's a kind of guerrilla marketing or so. What do you think?

Many days I feel guilty because I wish I had "me time", time when I could be by myself, no worries, no duties... It rarely happens, but I can always trust my shower time to unwind, sing out loud and be away from whatever is behind my bathroom door for at least... 15 min.
This is one of my favorite areas in my aunt's house. Her house is like a museum to me. so whenever I'm there, I just can't stop meditating and taking photos.

I promise I will try some daylight shots the next days! Today I had to exercise mathematics with Antony for a test tomorrow. We worked so hard that he has worn his pajama all the day and we can't get out. So I thought that it's consequent when I don't leave the house, also not for doing my daily shot. So here we go, the night in front of my lens and me, standing on my balcony. I hope I will find some time to go out in the next week and I also hope to see the sun for a little ride with my bicycle.
