Today I had a very interesting day, learning a lot about the Nonviolent Communication (NVC). This kind of communication is founded by Marshall Rosenberg in the early 1960th. This kind of communication is about four important things:
OBSERVATION: the facts (what we are seeing, hearing, or touching) as distinct from our evaluation of meaning and significance. NVC discourages static generalizations. It is said that "When we combine observation with evaluation others are apt to hear criticism and resist what we are saying." Instead, a focus on observations specific to time and context is recommended.
FEELING: emotions or sensations, free of thought and story. These are to be distinguished from thoughts (e.g., "I feel I didn't get a fair deal") and from words colloquially used as feelings but which convey what we think we are (e.g., "inadequate"), how we think others are evaluating us (e.g., "unimportant"), or what we think others are doing to us (e.g., "misunderstood", "ignored"). Feelings are said to reflect whether we are experiencing our needs as met or unmet. Identifying feelings is said to allow us to more easily connect with one another, and "Allowing ourselves to be vulnerable by expressing our feelings can help resolve conflicts."
NEEDS: universal human needs, as distinct from particular strategies for meeting needs. It is posited that "Everything we do is in service of our needs."
REQUEST: request for a specific action, free of demand. Requests are distinguished from demands in that one is open to hearing a response of "no" without this triggering an attempt to force the matter. If one makes a request and receives a "no" it is recommended not that one give up, but that one empathize with what is preventing the other person from saying "yes," before deciding how to continue the conversation. It is recommended that requests use clear, positive, concrete action language.
Isn't it amazing that we always have the chance to learn?!
Have a nice evening folks and thanks for following my stream on flickr, facebook or tumblr.

That's it. To find closure after 365 days isn’t easy and of course I didn't succeed. So I decided to show the place again where most of the scenes of my project where captured. But how should such a project find a appropriate end? What will I do in 2014 without it? Without getting out, taking pictures, process them, write my text. What to do without this ritual? Every day, maybe 90 minutes per capture and after 365 days, 32,850 minutes, 547 hours or 22 days and nights… What to do with all the excessive time in the upcoming year? Read more books, improve my english (I definitely should), or just put my feet up? Antony says I should look for a certain photo-project. He says I should photograph cinemas because he loves to watch movies. What do I love most after all? I 'm going to consider the matter again and again and maybe I find an satisfying answer in the future. Would it be something about people or my loved symmetry or just the emptiness? I'll search for my personal answer and perhaps I still discover something in retrospect I’ve not been aware of. I have learned to look, to find the moment without excitement and then just to pull the trigger. I've learned something about serenity and rituals and about how to start something and what it cost when it is brought to an end. A wonderful year! I want to thank those who supported me all the time. My friends, my family. In addition of course it’s you. you have helped me with your nice comments and with your faves and with many inspiring pictures in your stream. So I will say thank you and all the best for 2014.
Though humans are no hermits, spending time with oneself is a crucial thing to do. However, as there is a constant something or somebody that vies for attention, it isn’t easy to assert yourself and create personal space.
The next invitation for drifting away is always not long in coming. Because of the constant fear of missing out, there is little time left in the end. Yet, this personal time is elementary as otherwise, it is easy to lose yourself sooner or later.
However, if you invest the time, you quickly realize that the constant fear of missing out on something is utter nonsense. Because after being disconnected, not too much had happened except that you might have come to terms with yourself.

Folks, I have a new Camera. Today I got the brand new Sony A7r, which is the newest System Camera Flagship with a 36MP Full Frame chip. I'm very happy about this because I can use my stunning Leica Lenses with the original fokal length. What you see here is a picture which is made with the 35/2.8 Zeiss lens which I've ordered together witch the camera. The result is just great. No distortion, great color and zero noise in the picture. I'm sure I will fall in love after the first days of acclimatization. Have a nice evening folks.

I always want to learn photography. Having a "Me" time always leading me to find what life is all about and what makes you happy in every little thing you do. Simple things that you can make more interesting because of how you see it instead of how it should be seen. On how you look at it instead on depending on what you have to look at it. It is the person behind the camera that matters first.
- This is me courtesy of my mentor capturing my "Me" time, being totally connected with things I so love to do. Taking moments. 😊

balmorhea has a perfect sound for a lazy sunday and also a quiet good sound for the picture above. Nothing really happens. Just piano and some guitars, like light and concrete and some coldness. Somehow a strange evening where mariners are watching TV sitting in their big chairs with tattooed arms, while a couple has a hassle upstairs in the building for the rich and happy people with a view to the cold waterside... This one here a peaceful place around the corner where the masses are drinking their hot christmas punch...
Time again for my annual Spring trip. For the past 20 years running, my Spring trip has been to Death Valley National Park. This year will be different.
I'm teaming up with JP and Jenni of darthjenni fame and headed into the Mojave Preserve and points east. We are planning a lot of rock art sites and hope to end up our trip in the Kofa Preserve north of Yuma Arizona.
To be honest, I'm a bit saddened about not going to DVNP again this year. There is still so much to see! I'm considering a shorter trip sometime this year just so I don't break my streak.
We actually had plans to visit some other locations, but with all this crazy weather, it's just not working out.
I'll be back online sometime around April 2nd.

Cologne is a harsh terrain of course. Thats why I laugh silently when I saw this little girl with a trolley case running around the area of the Rheinauhafen. I was trying to initiate a conversation about her case and her woolen cap, but she jet showed me her cold shoulder. Anyway, I was happy that I've found a street pic after a while and so I got this picture today. At this point I would like to assure that you know my flickr group flickr street 35 with a lot of very nice streetshots inside. I try to get the group as clean as possible and so I'm proud to have more than 18.000 fabulous and some extraordinary pictures inside. If you have time at the weekend please check out the pool and feel free to enter the group as a member or just post your streetpics.
