Le Donegal en Drone ☘️
Inishkeel Island est une petite île de marée au large des côtes du comté de Donegal , en Irlande
L'île est située dans la baie de Gweebarra à environ 250 m de la côte. Un banc de marée sablonneux relie, à marée basse, l'île au continent.
Un petit bout d’histoire :
Au 6ème siècle après JC, une petite communauté de moines s'est installée sur l'île. Leur chef religieux était Saint Conall Cael, dont l'île tire plus tard son nom. Au cours des siècles suivants, Inishkeel était une destination traditionnelle de pèlerinages . Des vestiges de l'église et des bâtiments annexes ainsi que des pierres sculptées sont visibles sur l'île. Pour son importance artistique et archéologique , l'île a été déclarée Monument National.

This small chapel is located near Kelheim amidst a field that is intensively used for farming. These is no path to the chapel, and it is unknown, how old it is.

Diese kleine Kapelle in der Nähe von Thaldorf steht mitten in einem Feld, das landwirtschaftlich intensiv genutzt wird. Früher führte ein Weg vorbei, den es aber nicht mehr gibt. Es ist unklar, wie alt die Kapelle ist.

This drone image was taken from an oxbow lake of the Altmühl near Riedenburg. It illustrates that the color and consistency of ice can change dramatically within a few meters. Around logs and small islands it is white, perhaps because gas bubbles are trapped. The depth of the water and the soil conditions probably also have an effect on the ice color.
Dieses Drohnenbild stammt von einem Altarm der Altmühl nahe Riedenburg. Es illustriert, dass sich Farbe und Konsistenz von Eis innerhalb weniger Meter stark ändern können. Rund um Baumstämme und kleine Inseln ist es weiss, vielleicht weil Gasblasen eingeschlossen sind. Die Tiefe des Wassers und die Bodenbeschaffenheit haben wohl auch einen Effekt auf die Eisfarbe.

At the moment, I prefer to make pictures in the evening, because sunrise is so early :-( Amazingly, I am planning the use of my drone more thoroughly than using my SLR camera.
Under these light conditions, the merging of two shots to an HDR image is sufficient to avoid overexposure.
This year the grain harvest starts very early. Due to the unstable weather, threshing will continue until late at night.

St. Agatha stands for Agatha of Catania (3rd c.), which was a Sicilian martyr and saint. This church is located near Riedenburg and is a Romanesque complex, which was baroqueized in the 18th century. The walls of the cemetery are from the 17th century.

Adam’s Grave is a Neolithic chambered long barrow dating from the first half of the 4th Millennium BC and so is at least 5,500 years old. Situated on top of the chalk escarpment overlooking the Pewsey Vale, Adam’s Grave commands stunning views south across to Salisbury Plain.
The area around Adam’s Grave is the alleged site of a battle in AD 556 between the Britons and the Anglo-Saxons and, more certainly, of a battle in AD 715 between the West Saxons and the Mercians.
Holzheim am Forst is a community between the Naab and Regen rivers in the Upper Palatinate district of Regensburg.
It includes the Blümelberg with the catholic chapel of St. John Nepomuk. This octagonal central building was erected in 1713 as a plague chapel.
Holzheim am Forst ist eine Gemeinde zwischen Naab und Regen im Oberpfälzer Landkreis Regensburg. Dazu gehört der Blümelberg mit der kath. Kapelle St. Johannes Nepomuk. Dieser achteckige Zentralbau wurde 1713 als Pestkapelle errichtet.

This is the Carquinez Strait that marks the county line between Solano and Contra Costa County in Northern California.
Ballyness Bay, Falcarragh, County Donegal, Ireland
Ballyness Bay overlooks many islands & strands along Donegal’s north-western shore. Magheroarty can be seen to the left with islands Inishboffin, Inishdooey & Tory in the distance. Ireland has many stunning roads & viewpoints but there’s something very special about Ballyness that strikes excitement in me during every visit 😍
Ballyness is an area of outstanding natural beauty created by rivers leading out to sea. This estuary holds some of the strongest turquoise coloured waters found throughout Ireland. Water as clear as glass due to the purity of freshwater rivers which filter down through mountains into this bay daily.

Die Burg Balduinseck wurde 1325 gebaut. An der Burg führt der schöne Premiumwanderweg „Masdascher Burgherrenweg“ vorbei.
In the district of Regensburg, the grain harvest has just started. For Germany as a whole, the German Farmers' Association is expecting a below-average yield. Evenen in Germany, the persistent drought in many regions is causing problems for farmers.
However, these problems are less severe in the vicinity of Regensburg. The topsoil up to a depth of 25 centimetres is no drier than normal.

Fanad Head Peninsula, County Donegal, Ireland
For years I’ve been hoping to see a Basking Shark in our Irish waters. I was recently on another scout for them along the north coast of Donegal with my son Isaac. This time our luck finally changed 🙏
It was nearing sunset so light was dwindling fast. On arrival to Fanad Lighthouse I was full of joy to see all these dorsal fins gliding through the ocean's surface. Finally, we were greeted with a school of these gentle giants swimming and feeding in the calm shallow waters. On this evening me & my son sat as a family, watching this family of sharks in one of Ireland's most scenic landmarks…. An unforgettable moment i'll forever cherish 💚
Basking Sharks are the 2nd largest fish in the world! However, they are totally harmless as they are filter feeders who only eat microscopic plankton. They are fascinating to watch as they slowly swim around with their toothless mouths always wide-open filtering the water through their gills.
