it is the side of a box of wooden kitchen matches-- the place where you strike the match to set it aflame.

The new dark A tone body really is a good match for Annik Pop of Color and I don't think my last set of photos really showed this because Annik's face was in shadow. Of course, the smooth vinyl of the body is shiny and the light bounces off it, while the face is matte so it absorbs the light but the colour match is at least as good as her original body. Annik Quiet Storm is a shade darker - Nubian - so this body would unfortunately not be a good match for her.

I'm very happy with it. However, I don't think it would work for Quiet storm who seems to be darker than Pop of Colour If your have Quiet Storm and Awakening it would be good to know if you think the body would be a good match...
I found this box of matches with only one unused match. So I took a photo of it and played a little with Photoshop.

(Swedish: Tändsticksområdet) To the left the factory fire station and to the right the drying plant for match material, both completed in 1879. In 1909, the company reported in a fire insurance policy that "in the fire station lie every night 4 men. A fire telegraph exists." Match manufacturing was very flammable. From the start, the factory had a well-organized fire prevention. The factory was located far from the city, close to the lake Vättern.
The fire stations and the drying plant are good examples of the valuable brick architecture. From the 1860s, all buildings were made of brick, a fire-resistant material. Notice how skillful masons have used brick's possibilities to create variations in the facades.
Jönköping was known for its matchstick industry between 1845 and 1970. The phosphorus match was invented in 1831, and these matches became very popular because one could strike it against any surface to ignite it. However, the problem was that they ignited too easily, caused a lot of accidents and were toxic. In 1844, Swedish professor Gustav Erik Pasch patented a new invention, "Safety matches – Strike against the box only". To prevent the matches from igniting so easily, Gustav Erik Pasch separated the chemicals in the match head and placed the phosphorus on a separate surface on the outside of the box for striking ignition. John Edvard and Carl Frans Lundström took Pasch's patent and improved it. From 1848 they manufactured their new Safety matches in this factory area in Jönköping. The matches from the factory were packed into boxes with covers and sent to customers all over the world.
Today, the Match Museum is located in the first match factory building.
