At 3:30 in the morning you can stand in the middle of Thayer Street and take photos. I'm tired!

As I was packing up to leave I was watching the moon rise over the water. I took a few snaps but didn't think I really got much when I noticed the car in the lower right. It lent some perspective on what would have been just a long moon shot over water. I thought it came out okay.

This photograph was taken as part of a Meetup in Plymouth, MA. The assignment, should we choose to accept it, was to create depth of field shots. This was an interesting exercise because the wharf in Plymouth is a place where we have all shot many times before. However, just having an assignment breathed new life into an old place.

One of the great things about Flickr is that you can learn and be inspired by so many different people. This photo is inspired by Diana Angstadt who has taken some great food photos. That was something I hadn't paid much attention to before. At least now I am seeing the food.

This photo was taken at the Priscilla Beach Theater in Plymouth, MA. The theater is in the process of being refurbished and the owner allowed our photo club to come in to shoot before the interior was razed. It was a unique opportunity to preserve some small portion of history. This is a photo of the organizer's husband as he came through the back entrance to the theater. She recognized the unique lighting when he walked through the door. I happened to have my second camera handy and took a couple of shots as he posed for her.

Fort Taber in New Bedford, MA is a civil war era fort. On May 11, 1861, the earthworks fort was completed and operational. Brass and iron cannons were mounted to protect the Clark’s Cove and Acushnet River approaches to the city. This temporary defensive position was named Fort Taber, in honor of the city`s chief executive at that time.

Out driving on Monday, looking for landscapes to shoot in Rhode Island. I realize that just looking at a map is not a real good way to do this. You have to know where to look. i don't. I need someone to tell me where the good spots to shoot are. Anyway, I was flailing away in my car on Monday when I happened to drive by Barberville Dam. I have never heard of Barberville before. Well, it's in my GPS now!

My son got a film camera from his grandmother on our last visit home. After some prompting, I got him out to shoot today. He said he really liked and wants to back out sometime. I think he will really benefit starting on a film camera.

Mr. Lemon is an institution among locals. Dells is better known, but Mr. Lemon feels like family. And alas, once summer is over, like your favorite uncle, you'll have to wait till next spring to share some quality time.

Jordan finds the camera at the school assembly.

The sunflowers in the neighborhood are just barely hanging on to their bright yellow glow.
