I took these photos during a family invasion on Martha's Vineyard. That's Jordan taking a walkabout the Edgartown Lighthouse.
Out driving on Monday, looking for landscapes to shoot in Rhode Island. I realize that just looking at a map is not a real good way to do this. You have to know where to look. i don't. I need someone to tell me where the good spots to shoot are. Anyway, I was flailing away in my car on Monday when I happened to drive by Barberville Dam. I have never heard of Barberville before. Well, it's in my GPS now!

This is a remake of a photo that was posted last year. Working with some new techniques using NIK software in Photoshop, I've updated this photo.
This is the ornate bus stop at the bus tunnel in downtown Providence. Look closely at the walls. The tiles were designed by RISD students over the years. Despite the graffiti the stop still exhibits an artistic air.

Prospect Park is a great place to just sit and enjoy the sights and people of Providence. Here a photographer (Chris Emerson), has set up a photo shoot with a ballerina.
During a recent visit to my son's school I found myself in the art room. I asked his teacher if I could poke around for a while and take some photos.
I used to have the time to drive up to Maine on the weekends. This photo was taken in 1986 just after I picked up my camera for the first time in years. Cape Porpoise was a much quieter place back then. Next door to where this photo was take was a great lobster pound. It was literally run out of someone's back porch. The last time I was there it had been turned into a restaurant and i dare say, had lost a lot of it's charm. When I look at this photo it reminds of a time when Maine was more like Maine.
The Breezeway between the Atlantic Ocean and Charlestown Pond offers a great view of both bodies of water. This is the view from my best friend's house!

Some of the benches in Roger Williams Park have been given the artistic treatment. I must say, I like it.

Mr. Lemon is an institution among locals. Dells is better known, but Mr. Lemon feels like family. And alas, once summer is over, like your favorite uncle, you'll have to wait till next spring to share some quality time.
This is a reprint of a black and white photo that was posted earlier. This time I kept the color and added some saturation to the church building in the background.
Jim Thome hit 612 home runs in a 22 year major league career. Most of those he hit with the Cleveland Indians and thus, he makes it onto my photostream. Jordan and I saw him hit this home run in Fenway Park.
On Boothbay Harbor, Maine is an Inn I used to go to on vacation where I shot this photo. The owner was pulling in the boats on the lake where the Inn is located. It was sunset and the end of a glorious day.
West Pond, Parsonsfield, Maine.
The newest addition to my knife collection, a very pretty MC (Master Collection) spring assisted folding knife with a highly polished carved hollow ground blade with a nice scroll pattern on the handle along with a touch of faux mother of pearl just to add a bit of class.
It's not only pretty but it has a good, hefty feel to it and the quality is exceptional considering that it was designed in the U.S. but manufactured in China.
As Cleveland attempts to pull itself out of the economic malaise, there are some casualties in the inner city. I remember thinking what a great art deco sign this was when this sports bar was open. It was a different feel for this part of the city. Alas, Jack's is no more. At least I got to shoot the sign before they take that away. I wonder if they will auction it off. It's a great sign.
I went to Beavertail tonight to see if I could find a different perspective from which to shoot the lighthouse. As I was driving in I realized that I always go past the lighthouse to the other side to shoot. It was staring me in the face the whole time. I have never shot the lighthouse from the drive up. That's what I did tonight. It was fun trying to find a new perspective on this old venue.
