How the markings are applied to the runway. Codes are:
SW: Stopway, no landing or taxying here!
TO: Taxi only, no landing. Just before a THRESHOLD.
TD: Touchdown
AP: Aiming Point The idea is that you touch down on the previous mark, but are on the ground by this one.
150m Marks 150 metres from the threshold. There'd be more of these but the runway is relatively "short". However, if I removed a 25m segment between the two marks, they'd be 150m apart.
The centre line dashes should by rights be 120' (36.5m) long with an 80' (24.3m) gap between them . However in Opensim that's not practicle. Rather, I've maintained a 3:5 ratio between dash and space. That can be scaled down and give the illusion of an accurate look.
The idea is that the pilot(s) try and touch down on the TO, are fully down by the AP, and hopefully fully landed before they get to the Threshold at the other end of the runway.
What's still missing ts runway ID numbers, which should just be after a threshold. The yellow borderline runs from right/south to left/north (or 0°, and the runway is at a 10° angle. The number at the right would be 01, and to the left would be 19. They'll be added next.
The soil engineer (right) did find a spot where the water table was low enough to permit a septic system. All the rest of the site layout is arranged around the septic location. The house will go uphill, behind Steve on the left.
The pink tape the soil engineer is tying on the bush, marking the spot for the septic field, will be an important landmark on the site for months to come.

Getting ready to implement the construction detour / signing / striping. The traffic is going to be routed around the normal lanes of travel. This is a nice solution to pavement marking removal.
Saw some kind of markings on the wall here en route to the central area.
The caves trail is up up and up. And lots of slippery looking stairs and rocks! Zoe was paired with Mommy, Nathan with Gido and Noah with me - the buddy system!
We spent the day at the Scenic Caves in Collingwood Ontario. Tons to do, playground, train rides, mine gem hunting, trout pond, suspension bridge and of course the caves!
Another trip up north to Canada after three weeks home alone. This time close to an 9.5 hour drive up to the cottage house by Georgian Bay. What a sunny lovely place! The family enjoying the outdoors and getting to see their Gido (Grandfather) and Baba (Grandmother).
Sitting on a chair I used tape to mark how close to the back of me knee the waterproof seat of my pants should be positioned.
Sometimes I feel the badgers must fill up at the pub so they can do this much scent marking in my garden!
Some unusual markings have been left on the road...I'm wondering if these aren't directionals for logging trucks or something. Knockahopple, County Tipperary, Ireland

“One Life, One Book, One Time,” a Coptic-sewn book with a full-case bind-ing of brown calfskin nestled in the belly of a doll, is the title of one of 50 Guild of Book Workers juried pieces that comprise the “Marking Time” ex-hibit on view through November 22 at San Francisco Public Library’s main branch. Created by book binder Kathy Strother of Greenville, South Carolina, the doll is a metaphor for a woman and the book represents her children and her life. The exhibit will travel to nine venues across the country through March 2011
According to the rules of bareback bronc riding, the rider must have spurs over the break of the horse’s shoulders and touching the horse when the horse’s feet hit the ground on the first jump.
