MAPUSA: YESTERDAY AND TODAY, another fact-filled book written by Domnic Fernandes (Ex-Dharan and Ganv Vaddi-Anjuna), will be launched by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar at the Mapusa Municipality Hall on October 7, 2012, at 4.45 pm. After "Domnic's Goa", it is but natural that many of us eagerly await Domnic's well documented tale of one of Goa's best known towns - Mapusa, famed for its Friday Bazaar, feast of Our Lady of Miracles, Bondgintli Zatra and a host of other things, not forgetting "Mapxenche bhazlele chonne". The book's been published by Goa-1556, the recipient of the privileged Verodiano Award 2012.

Ms Bernadette Braganza, wife of pioneer of Konkani film-making Al Jerry Braganza of Mapusa, was felicitated by the Dalgado Konknni Academy at the ESG in Panjim on April 24, 2008, on the occasion of Konkani Film Day. The marks the release of the first Konkani movie "Mogacho Anvddo" which was produced by Al Jerry Braganza in 1950 in Bombay. Bernadette is flanked by her relatives - Agnelo Branganza from Ansa Bhatt in Mapusa.

27th November 2022. HILARY CARRASCO. Aged 82. Former pupil at Dr Ribeiro Goan School, Nairobi, he later became a member of the RGI and GI. Former Company Secretary of GOA UK and devoted many of his years to helping at the Navelim feast dances in London.
