Auto focus could not "see" this Ginkgo leaf. I resorted to manual focus and discovered some odd background effects.
Using the Nikon 50/1.4 with the Sony NEX-5 works like a dream. I can only blame my self with I miss focus but it's fairly easy and fast with Sony's amazing 3" screen and the live view assist isn't even necessary in many cases.
My Nikon F2 with the DP-3 finder. I do not use this one as much as I use the other F2's. I purchased it for low light occasions and lately, I have been using my Coolpix s700 for those times. I need to break this one out more often and will try to do that over the next few months. The motor drive is the md-3 and mb-2 battery pack. The lens is the 24 2.8 non-ai K type.
A quick test shot from the lab's GH-2 with a manual focus Olympus Zukio OM 50mm f/1.4 mounted (f/1.4, 1/40", ISO 1600). Noise reduction done in Lightroom 3.
Tomorrow (Monday, November 30, 2009), is the second anniversay of my dad's passing. I decided to honor him a litte bit over the next few months by fixing up and sharing some photos of his extremely interesting life.
For sixteen years, my dad was the lead Weather Wizard for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. There was a reason for that. The pilots loved flying with him because, as they said, he could "see" the wind.
I think this photo is from the 1996 Balloon Fiesta, the 25th Anniversary year.
This image was scanned from a photo (probably fuji-iso200 and processed at Walmart) I took with our shared, heavily used--over three decades--Minolta X-9.
Background desaturated in PSE6.
