I recycled 2 straps and buckles from an older bag to fashion a carrying harness for my Manfrotto 190XPROB. Successful project and it took less than 1hr from thought to finish :)

Playing with flash: single Canon 580EX on a light stand aiming from top left, creating the first self-portrait that I actually like. No doubt I would be playing with strobes more often now. This is fun!

Last week I tested my reversing ring. I tried different lenses (35mm and 50mm), different lighting (ambient and flash), different apertures (manually) and of course different scenes.

This is one of my favorites.

It's with the 50/1.4 with backlit flash and an aperture of something inbetween f/8 and f/13.

Those scenes really catch me. Those rich green and leading straight lines.

Same location, different slope and late afternoon, not night.

There are hundreds of ways to sets this scene and present it, I choice to try a panorama stitch. Which in my opinion captures the vista beautifully. Yes there are some issues, it's not perfect, but I really like this photograph. Maybe because of it's greatness, maybe because of the lone tree on the slope left.
