Now branded 'CityBeam' and re-painted into Southeastern's blue liver, 707001 makes a brief return to 'home turf' while working 5Z07 from Slade Green Depot to Wimbledon Park Depot.
The class 707 was delivered new to South West Trains entering traffic from 2017 with the fleet of 30 units shortly passing to South Western Railway who announced their replacement. While 12 are still retained on the South Western due to widely publicised delays with their replacement stock, the remaining 18 units have migrated to Southeastern.
Due to issues with the compatibility of the wheel lathe at Slade Green with these units, they are currently still receiving lathe attention at their old home depot of Wimbledon Park, requiring occasional moves between the two depots.
On this occasion it is 707001 which is making the transfer for lathe attention, and is pictured on platform 20 within the former International terminal at Waterloo.
The busstop on Tube Side Avenue in Bricksem's City Center has just been placed there 2 weeks ago and already it has to be replaced with a newer version.
Luckily the maintenance guys from Cross Axle are skilled enough to get the job done quickly!!!
Orangutan Bridge Maintenance Crew.
Over the croc infested rivers in Borneo, there are orangutan bridges to allow for the orangutan and other primates to cross safely. Like all bridges, maintenance is periodically needed.
I managed to catch a shot of one of the Macaque Monkey work crews.
Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) locomotive 61 is seen idling at Fox Chase Station with the regional rail wire train, laid up between shifts of overhead catenary maintenance. The locomotive is a model RL-1 built by Republic Locomotive Works; one of two that the agency rosters in its work fleet.
Ship's engineers and crew are clearly giving this lifeboat some TLC. This image was taken from amidships aboard the MV Kimanis, looking forward to the bridge and the starboard lifeboat davits just abaft that structure.
I'm not sure whether those on the main deck watching the maintenance are other crewmembers interested in what is being done to something that might prove vital to them in a crisis, or whether they are local labourers taking a break from loading/unloading the ship. Note the open deck hatch in the lower left of the image, with the covers stacked on the forward edge of the hatch. There's also a spare anchor stowed against the forward superstructure.
The Kimanis was a 90m long, 3,189 ton cargo liner built in Dundee in 1951 and part of the Straits Steamship fleet until 1982. She was a tramp steamer operating on the mainly coastal routes between Singapore, Brunei and the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak. In addition to all sorts of cargo, she also carried a small number of passengers.
The ship was tied up in a port when this image was taken. Based on other slides in the set, it is probably Victoria, on the island of Labuan, one of the Malaysia's three federal territories, which is perched just off the northern coast of the island of Borneo.

An eastbound Metrolink train passes MOW equipment parked on the adjacent track. Crews are performing nighttime work to replace rail between Claremont and Montclair this weekend.
"Who called for maintenance" said the person down below as he policed the area. Safety was paramount as workers in a crane above, fixed a sign skyward and beyond pedestrians. Up among the roof dwellers the wind was howling but a spot of sunshine lit the work that was to be done.

Happy Window Wednesday! Maintenance Workers in the OHSU Knight Cancer Center in South Waterfront, Portland, Oregon. Captured fron the 8th floor of the OHSU Dental School.
In order to enhance security on this dangerous yet fastest route between Brixton and Belleville, the Bureau of Airbound Travel and Transportation (AT&T) had tasked captain Charles Seymore White and his crew with the installation of several automated buoys, commonly referred to as „matchsticks“. Ten of these vessels were to be stationed next to a couple of crucial navigation marks in the Northern floating ice field, where a traditional manned lightship would be hard pressed to stay in position for very long. With coal in stock for close to a month, maintenance would be limited to a minimum. Precision measuring instruments would record weather data which in turn might help further exploration of this area or detect shifts in ice formations that might endanger shipping routes.
Finally busted out the Iron Giant from Diamond Select Toys. I was more motivated to do this shot after getting this vintage oiler from my wife’s grandfather
New Haven Railroad DER-1 class ALCO DL-109 # 0743 & DER-3a ALCO PA-1 locomotives are seen in the yard maintenance area at Providence, Rhode Island, late 1950's. Seen behind the DL-109 locomotive is a Budd RDC-1 coach # 23. This photo came from my collection, however, I do not no the name of the photographer that took the photo.

Parked at HAECO on the western tip of HKIA, this Triple 7 is receiving a maintenance job by 3 HAECO technicians.
This frame was delivered to Cathay Pacific in February 2004, and re-configured in June 2013 to 42 seats in Business Class and 356 seats in Economy Class.
