there are a number of these little mantids around the yard this spring - wouldn't be surprised to find out that their mama was the large one that hung around in the ornamental grasses for a couple of months last summer

i've always found it a frustrating challenge with these ferocious-looking little creatures that seem to constantly be in motion and never remain still long enough to get a shot off

this time i managed to get a few off before it slithered off in search of aphids or whatever fit the menu for this day

It doesn't feel like an entire year has passed; it doesn't feel as though I have lived for 365 more days on Earth while you didn't.

Maybe you come to me in butterflies, or in rays of sunshine. Or simply in a feeling of content that appears throughout the day. Maybe you're always here.

Thank you.

This little friend was hiding in a flower and he only showed himself after a sprayed some water on the petals. He did not seem too upset.

Dark is my night

And darker is my day

Yeah

I must've been blind, out of my mind

I never never saw the warning signs

How goes it? It goes lonely

It goes slowly

So slowly goes the night...

I've only seen this fungus once before, so I was delighted to find it growing in a plant pot today!
