not going to win any awards for the sharpest macro or best use of the manual focus ring, but several properties of this image strike my fancy... sorta looks like it could be a watercolor painting or illustration the way the light, colors and depth-of-field collaborate with the digital sensor to reproduce a moment in time

my guess is that it's a podabrus pruinosus

i found out that aphids have zero survival instinct, no fight-or-flight response, as i watched this "aphid lion" work its way up and down each leaf picking off lines of aphids while the ants just watched
