Here is my sewing machine, or at least one of them. It sits proudly on my childhood study desk, where I spend many an afternoon sketching my little heart out as a child. I'm always thankful to my folks for never getting rid of it, no matter the fact that it's seen better days.
week four, task one, machine wrapped lace? Karen is this right? it seems a little wonky, loppy. i played with the length and found i got less "loppy" bits if i went fast on the foot peddle and just used the regular fme motion on the hoop holding part. this is certainly fast if i did it right but seems like getting it to look the way you want it too? might need practice. i think i went over the threads about 3-4 times. nice thing is you can go up and down the same row...so karen, does it look like it was demonstrated. did you mention how to cut it out? have to go and check the video again. one bit of a suggestion, if you do try this - start with a pretty full bobbin. this beast loves it's thread.

This Saint Machine is the King of vending machines in a local Kroger supermarket lobby. Fifty cents gets you a saint. Frankly, I find it a bargain.

The hands of Mr 2 yr old X:
- love to stroke and cuddle kittens and rats ever so gently
- love to drive his cars around on tables, bookcases, computer desks and any other furniture he can reach
- love to quietly sneak a peppermint from Daddy's peppermint tins or squirt a quick spray of Daddy's aftershave to make the bedroom smell lovely
- love to explore (especially things he KNOWS he's not allowed to touch!)
- love to reach up for cuddles at random times
- love to find rubbish in the backyard to bring me to put in the rubbish bin
- love to feel the washing machine as soon as he's been allowed to push the "start" button, so he can feel the gentle vibrations as the machine starts to fill up with water
- love to draw and colour
- love to turn the pages (and occasionally rip them.. *sighs*) of any book he can touch to explore the words and pictures within
- love to squirt Mummy with the penguin squirter toy in the bath to make Mummy scream and laugh
and...
- they love to gently stroke his Daddy's face when he's sleepy and Daddy's leaned in for goodnight cuddles.

Freyja Godfrey wanted to show Upton Zero how Muggle Washing Machine work. So with some creative magic and wit, they created this stirring engorged cauldron. That is what I call creatively applying magic to demonstrate muggle concepts. Well done.
The logistics behind buying a vending machine business are much different than that of a brick-and-mortar one. Starting a vending machine business is low-risk. There is no need to scout out one fixed location to run your business, as vending machines are placed in businesses, schools, malls, and many other locations that are already up-and-running.
Before launching your vending machine business, your efforts are focused on finding locations with high traffic. You can research tons of locations and determine which are the most successful, high trafficked locations.
Also, the vending machine itself is mobile, so if you aren’t getting the results you want, you can simply move the machine somewhere else for less than $200.

My entry for the PlushTeam Steampunk Challenge.
Hand sculpted foam core covered in a variety of up-cycled upholstery fabrics (sourced from leftover samples from interior decorators that were headed for the trash). Clock hands serve as sewing needles, metal bobbins, a necklace chain, and the mechanics of a wind up duck make up the inner workings inside the panel, and a pressure gauge accompanies some bobbins and doodads at the top. The side wheel is a faucet spigot.
Measures 13"x9.5"x6.5", and is the same size as a standard sewing machine.
Brent Bushnell of Syyn Labs works with Ty Pennington and Paige Hemmis on a special machine for Carl Hall. Carl is a former semi-pro baseball player who was paralyzed in an accident; the design team built him a special sip-n-puff controlled pitching machine so that he could pitch baseballs to his son again.
