my "old" macbook pro pales in comparison
This is a shot of my MacBook Pro being used as a WiFi keyboard for my Newton MessagePad 2100 which was configuring an Intel Express 530T Switch via a serial terminal session. How else would I have quickly gotten a keyboard connected to my Newton that had ctrl, esc, and the up/down arrow keys?

opening a macbook (pro) power adapter case with a screw clamp after removing the ears (might be possible with the ears still attached)

(the other marks visible are caused by attempts with a screwdriver and a saw... ;-)
while using the clamp apply pressure so that it stays "within" the ears
Response to www.dailyshoot.com prompt #ds283:
"Make a photo of a tool today. Screwdriver. Pliers. Computer. What's the tool you find most important on a daily basis?"
Nothing terribly special about this one, but it's the most straightforward answer to the question that I could think of. I originally purchased this MacBook Pro for video editing, but over the past few month's it's pretty much become the de facto computer that I use whenever I need to get serious work done.
We have 2 new notebooks at work with almost identical hardware specs, the only difference is the hardware manufactures and the OS. Both will have a SOE and I will test to see the performance.

Zero air bubbles and dust specks. NONE!
I installed the Power Support Anti-Glare film on my Macbook Pro.
Installation was a pain. I cleaned the screen four times, used an air can to clean it again, and I still wasn't happy with the results, so I went and got a totally new microfiber wipe from an iMac box. Using the brand new clean wipe worked very well.
But even then, when applying I had one big dust speck, maybe even a dead skin flake from me, end up right in the middle of the screen causing an air bubble. I got a piece of tape and VERY CAREFULLY removed it. Overall it was a difficult install.
The results are very, very nice. The screen is almost exactly like a Powerbook G4 screen. The screen is slightly fuzzier and the colors are a bit muted from the normal glossy look. I'm sure some people won't like that but I'm very happy with it.
Here's a macworld review with a little more depth.

Please note: YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE TO GET THE FILM ON RIGHT. If you're aren't borderline OCD you might want to find a friend who is.

16 years since she's been gone.. wow. It still feels like it happened yesterday.
Como la flor, con tanto amor, me diste tu se marchito me marcho hoy, yo se perder, pero ay como me duele..
last week, sat down at my MacBookPro in the morning, and noticed the machine was no longer sitting level on my desk. Flipped it over, and realized the battery had expanded severely enough to bend the metal casing.
Luckily the battery was still in warranty (11 months old), and Apple quickly sent me a replacement which arrived the next day.
The Apple customer support dude said it was overheating, and rare to happen. Just glad it didn't frack up my laptop.
I messed with the icons so that the "Macintosh HD" matched what the computer actually looks like. I also changes the "Apps" "Docs" and "Pics" aliases to have the same icons as the folders they actually point to. It's a subtle change, but it's a good one I think.
