Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a black and white day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate Sliders Sunday. It is also Valentine's Day.
I’m have a hung over since, like we all know by now, I’m not a classy lady and I dont know how to drink with moderation … So here we go. Have a happy Valentine's Day… it is also a running day for me, which should be a very interesting experience with the amount of gin and tonic I had yesterday. But I will do it anyway, or at least I will try ... it is only 10km lol !

The city is on the Pacific coast in the upper northwestern part of California, about 20 mi (32 km) south of the Oregon border. Crescent City's offshore geography makes it unusually susceptible to tsunamis.[11] Much of the city was destroyed by four tsunami waves generated by the Great Alaskan earthquake off Anchorage, Alaska in 1964. More recently, the city's harbor suffered extensive damage and destruction from tsunamis generated by the March 11, 2011 earthquake off Sendai, Japan. Several dozen vessels and many of the docks they were moored to were destroyed as wave cycles related to the tsunamis exceeded 8 ft (2.4 m).
The climate of Crescent City is moderate, with cool summers for its latitude as a result of intense maritime moderation. Nearby inland areas behind the mountains have significantly warmer summer temperatures.

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate « bread and topping » at Macro Mondays.
It is a very well known fact, that Red Lady loves Nutella and bread… It is truly a struggle since she gains weight very, very easily and as we all know, Nutella and bread aren’t recommended if you want to lose or keep your weight stable… Of course, if you eat Nutella and bread with moderation: you shouldn’t have a problem… Unfortunately, for Red Lady, she is an emotional eater and at her age, just looking in the general direction of Nutella jar will result in an immediate weight gain… The struggle is real people !! Red Lady wants to keep some of her calories for other things she loves (like gin and tonic for instance) but the Nutella jar keeps calling her name ALL the time ! The solution would be to ask Mr. Red Lady not to buy Nutella anymore (yes, Mr. Red Lady is one in charge of buying groceries …) but that is another story… For now, Red Lady can’t see her « stressful » life without Nutella…and bread. Another solution: moderation… Unfortunately for her, Red Lady isn’t a classy Nutella eater: she usually eats Nutella with a huge spoon or a spatula… Looks like Red Lady will have to buy some bigger clothes for her « back to office » season…
But for now, I have to go since I have a video meeting, and I need my Nutella and bread before joining my Teams session.

'Everything should be in moderation’ goes the old line, meaning don’t binge and don’t abstain, but do take it easy on the bad stuff. Carbohydrates are necessary nutrients as they can provide proper fuel when done in moderation.

I looked through my archives for a bench photograph and found this one. I took it at Carsington Water in Derbyshire, UK, in November 2014. My family specialised in cold winter picnics at dusk. Here’s my Dad and niece watching birds in the gloom, flask of coffee to hand.
I’ve edited the photograph in Snapseed. It’s now square, grainy and blue/greenish. I only managed to get it onto Sliders Sunday after several attempts. The Flickr Moderation bot had changed its safety level, thereby making it ineligible. I changed the safety level back to safe. HSS!

Indian paintbrush
The flowers of Indian paintbrush are edible, and were consumed in moderation by various Native American tribes as a condiment with other fresh greens. These plants have a tendency to absorb and concentrate selenium in their tissues from the soils in which they grow, and can be potentially very toxic if the roots or green parts of the plant are consumed. Highly alkaline soils increase the selenium levels in the plants.
