Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a black and white day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate Sliders Sunday. It is also Valentine's Day.
I’m have a hung over since, like we all know by now, I’m not a classy lady and I dont know how to drink with moderation … So here we go. Have a happy Valentine's Day… it is also a running day for me, which should be a very interesting experience with the amount of gin and tonic I had yesterday. But I will do it anyway, or at least I will try ... it is only 10km lol !

The city is on the Pacific coast in the upper northwestern part of California, about 20 mi (32 km) south of the Oregon border. Crescent City's offshore geography makes it unusually susceptible to tsunamis.[11] Much of the city was destroyed by four tsunami waves generated by the Great Alaskan earthquake off Anchorage, Alaska in 1964. More recently, the city's harbor suffered extensive damage and destruction from tsunamis generated by the March 11, 2011 earthquake off Sendai, Japan. Several dozen vessels and many of the docks they were moored to were destroyed as wave cycles related to the tsunamis exceeded 8 ft (2.4 m).
The climate of Crescent City is moderate, with cool summers for its latitude as a result of intense maritime moderation. Nearby inland areas behind the mountains have significantly warmer summer temperatures.

I think the majority of us are guilty of taking the humble honey bee for granted. Their plant pollination is critical to the life of plant and their continual annual occurrence. In moderation honey is also a natural super food. Bees if left alone also don't bother humans. Well, unless you act like my daughter and throw your arms frantically around the moment one comes nearby.
This particular bee was photographed at the National Trust property at Acorn Bank where a series of hives are kept adjacent to the property gardens and orchard.

For a Pelican, there is no such thing as moderation, much less sharing with other Pelicans. It's every Pelican for itself, as this bulging beak shows, right down to those fish tails spilling out of the beak.

I looked through my archives for a bench photograph and found this one. I took it at Carsington Water in Derbyshire, UK, in November 2014. My family specialised in cold winter picnics at dusk. Here’s my Dad and niece watching birds in the gloom, flask of coffee to hand.
I’ve edited the photograph in Snapseed. It’s now square, grainy and blue/greenish. I only managed to get it onto Sliders Sunday after several attempts. The Flickr Moderation bot had changed its safety level, thereby making it ineligible. I changed the safety level back to safe. HSS!
