allee [to nowhere, maybe a long abandoned wharf] of exotic Populus deltoides colonised by local mistletoes.

Mixed series of four. My local castle offers a nice change for habitat and can produce some interesting results if you look closely. The mistletoe is always present every year.
Early spring, just after Equinox, this old oak has no leaves yet but the mistletoe clusters are happy about the full sunlight.
Último vidrinho da coleção Christmas Songs by Dany Vianna!

Leafy Mistletoe (Phoradendron villosum) in the huge Black Oaks (Quercus kelloggii) of Yosemite Valley. Upper Yosemite Falls (center, background) is reduced to a trickle, but the spray freezes to the rocks at night.
Eastern Mistletoe = Santalaceae: Phoradendron leucarpum (formerly Phoradendron serotinum)
This specimen was found growing on a cultivated tree in a suburban area in Durham NC (USA) on 13 February 2020. I took some detail shots of the fruit trying to show the seed and sticky pulp.
The entrance to the 71,100 acre Mistletoe State Park in Appling, GA. Situated on Clarks Hill Lake, this park has wonderful hiking trails and is known for its bass fishing. This is the 13th Georgia State Park Megan and I have visited.
Had spotted this avenue of lime trees festooned with mistletoe some time ago and thought there may be an image to be had here. The sillouettes created by the backlighting and the shadows falling on the frosted grass create a pleasing combination. Perhaps dramatic storm clouds or a spooky low light shot may be a future project.
Hough on the hill mistletoe ...near the half-pagan, half-Christian burials at Loveden Hill, and the Saxon church at Hough...the only locality for mistletoe I know in this area.
I love this doll a lot!
I suddenly went out with her because I had to take outside pics of her like right now.
She now needs white eyelashes (but I suck so much at glueing eyelashes T.T)
Precursor of the upcoming full moon, this is a shot from the last month's full moon. Note the bunch of mistletoe nessted in the oak branch just over the moon itself. Good timing since I took it in December.
One could start a very lucrative mistletoe business here in the Sierra Foothills!
Had a TERRIBLE time getting into Flickr and uploading this morning. Hopefully, things have settled down now.

This is biology rather than photography. Here are two mistletoe seeds sending out new growth which will penetrate the apple tree bark on which they're sitting and start a new mistletoe infestation. This is how it works; mature mistletoe form berries which are eaten by birds but the seeds within are toxic so the birds tend not to eat them but just take the flesh and then wipe their beaks on tree branches. The seeds however, are very sticky and adhere to the branches from where they start to grow, penetrate the tree bark and hey presto another mistletoe is formed.
Thanks to all who found this interesting - my thanks go to Helen Lowther - a very knowledgeable gardener who pointed me towards the seeds and told me their story.
