or 'Hope in the Midst of Darkness.'

I've found an image which to me sums up how I feel about this new building in Southampton: a depressing darkness with touches of brightness sparkling around.

People seem to be divided, they either love it or hate it. To be fair, it does have interesting features, it does look better at night and it is certainly eyecatching, more images to come shortly.

Sorry for lack of comments, sorting out and getting used to new computer, will catch up soon.

In the midst of the global pandemic, where most people around the globe has been in lockdown - there's a lot to be thankful for.

Looking out the window, tonight's full moon has been a glorious sight.

Sometimes we all feel that even in the midst of others we're on the fence post alone. We each must walk through some doors alone although accompanied by those we love.

The Externsteine, are a unique cultural monument that has fascinated people since time immemorial. A medieval, sacred site in the midst of bizarre Sandstone cliffs, this is how visitors experience the Externsteine in the heart of the Lipperland.

The characteristic Rock formation rises up to 40 meters into the air. Both the viewing platform with the staircase from the 19th century, as well as the medieval grotto bear witness to the eventful history.

Above all, however, the relief of the Descent from the Cross, which was carved into the rocks by medieval stonemasons, is of worldwide importance.

The oldest nature reserve in Lippe around the Rock group invites you to immerse yourself in early history with its surrounding forests.

The Externsteine are part of the middle mountain range of the Teutoburg Forest, which is mainly composed of sandstones from the Lower Cretaceous period.

In the course of mountain building about 70 million years ago, the originally flat sandstone was pressed vertically in the area of the mountain range.

This monumental group of rocks, one of the most remarkable natural and cultural monuments in Central Europe, still raises many questions today.

Plunked in the midst of the Central Oregon plateau, Black Butte looks like a misplaced mountain. A steep but view-packed trail climbs 1.9 miles to the panoramic summit, gaining 1,600 feet of elevation. The last portion of this route is difficult enough that it is not generally recommended for hikers with children. The trail crosses a treeless slope that's white in June with the blooms of serviceberry bushes. Expect other wildflowers, too: big yellow balsamroot, purple larkspur, and red paintbrush.

"My dear,

In the midst of hate,

I found there was, within me,

an invincible #love.

In the midst of tears,

I found there was, within me,

an invincible #smile.

In the midst of chaos,

I found there was, within me,

an invincible #calm.

I realized, through it all, that...

In the midst of winter,

I found there was, within me,

an invincible #summer.

And that makes me happy.

For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me,

there's something stronger - something better,

pushing right back.

Truly yours,

Days have been exhausting lately. Busy days at work, the at home “to-do” list just keeps getting longer and nothing ever seems to get crossed off it. My computer hard drive died, and along with it at least 2 years worth of photos I hadn’t backed up. I’m seriously missing Covid quarantine days ( oh yeah, add that to the list too… I had Covid last month) I was happy to see the first frost this morning, telling me that winter is coming. Although I miss the daylight, I do enjoy not feeling guilty about just coming home from work and immediately changing into pajamas and going to bed early. I need recharging!

With last night’s frost, this may be one of the last bouquets of flowers for the year ( besides the store bought ones, that aren’t nearly as much fun). A friend gave them to me at work gif my birthday. I thought they deserved their own photo shoot!

Wishing you all peaceful days and time to recharge!

This was a big one.

My first attempt at using film washi F was during a big snowstorm last month. I developed it in rodinal 1:25. A little over developed but I think that's because I didn't compensate enough for the temperature of the water.

Night-blooming cereus, in the midst of blooming. Each plant blooms one night a year. In normal times, most plants in Tucson bloom on the same night, by some mysterious signaling process that communicates over long distances, and synchronizes the bloom. This year everything is out of whack; different areas, and different plants, are way out of sync. Maybe the signal has been disrupted by smoke from the Bighorn Fire in the Santa Catalinas, north of Tucson. To be sure, everything is out of whack this year! But when the bloom occurs it's awesomely beautiful, as seen here.

" In forest glades where shadows dance,

'Midst ancient oaks in twilight's trance,

There lies a realm of mystic lore,

Where mushrooms bloom forevermore.

Beneath the canopy's emerald sheen,

In dampened earth, a fairy queen,

With golden crown and robes so bright,

In moonlit glimmer, casts her light.

From humble earth, they gently rise,

Mushrooms of myriad shapes and size,

With caps of crimson, gold, and white,

They greet the morn with pure delight.

Oh, marvel of nature, humble fungus,

In dampened woods, you thrive among us,

A feast for fae and mortal tongue,

In tales of old, forever sung.

So heed the call of woodland's hush,

And seek the mushrooms in the brush,

For in their midst, a tale untold,

Of magic, mystery, and secrets old."

A.I generated poem

What does it mean, then, to live together with Wisdom? It is to live fully awake in the center of these contradictions of our times while refusing to be defined by them, to accommodate ourselves to them, like an essence fed into a computer. For when I am home with her I can take my ease, for nothing is bitter in her company.30 This is what Merton, citing Julian of Norwich, calls the true “eschatological secret” of Christian hope and the very “heart of theology: not solving the contradiction, but remaining in the midst of it, in peace, knowing that it is fully solved, but that the solution is secret, and will never be guessed until it is revealed. . . . The wise heart lives in Christ.”
