Lots of birds in Maui. Saw this Black Capped Night Heron while taking a walk on a boardwalk.

I recently spent the better part of November in Lahaina in Maui, Hawaii on a business trip. I only had time to take my camera on a few walks while I was there. So I didn’t capture all there was to see there, but what I did I think is worthwhile sharing here and hope you like them. As I travel to different areas, I am always so amazed on how different nature is not to mention the culture and scenery. Some things are the same but not much. These photos were taken in Lahaina from the beach walk area. Some of the exotic fowl may not be indigenous to the island and roamed free on the hotel resorts.

Got to love Maui! Just another beautiful view from a beautiful place. For post-processing info, check out my short blog at www.digitalladysyd.com/?p=5013.

Maui BW, Nikon D600, Nikon 50 f/1.4g, converted to HDR in Photomatix, lens corrected in LR.

I have gone back through my Maui photos and revamped a couple using photomatix and lightroom 4.

This is one of my favorite photos that I took with my old D70 before upgrading to the D200. Since the upgrade I've been going through many old images and analyzing them or fixing them for Flickr. I took this one with the 18-70mm with a slim polarizing filter that doesn't cause vignetting on its own, thus the consistent lighting throughout the difficult overcast view. I guess I don't need to say much about the beauty of the North Shore of Maui...enjoy!
