The area around Mason Street and Vancouver Street is a mix of working-class and social housing. Here are two identical houses, one is well-kept while the other is in disrepair. Land use is diverse with auto shops across the street from these houses as well as churches, shelters, and box apartments down the road. There is also a high concentration of churches in this area, especially one block south on Pandora Street.
Look @ Elida, calm as a Hindu cow. . . not that she's a cow or anything. . . I mean. . . O never mind.

The Denmark pattern by Furnivals, later Masons, is most often seen in blue; pink and green were also produced.
The black sugar bowl here has no maker's mark, so might have been a trial piece; any further information welcome.
Although the name 'Denmark' probably alludes to a similar pattern by Royal Copenhagen, the origins of the design go back much earlier.
Another similar pattern produced in Stoke was 'Finlandia' by Myotts (later Churchill) but I have also similar pieces made in France and Germany.

Mason wasp searching my garage wall (for a possible nest site?). Looks like Symmorphus. Anyone confirm?
Mason is so full of energy. He sits in the pool for a second, runs around to the back of the yard, and then flops back in the pool again--but only for second.
Abby Sliter, 4, of Maineville, checks out what's coming next during The 2011 Mason Heritage and Bicycle Festival, Saturday, August 20. Sliter was with her mom along Mason-Montgomery road watching the hour-long parade. Many people lined the parade route to cheer on their friends and family and of course, get the candy that was tossed.
