Lifelong Mason City resident Jaime Singley walks her dog, Shelby, down Chestnut street in the heart of downtown Mason City. Efforts to revitalize downtown are being made by local business owners such as John Means and Chris Spreyer, as well as by a newly formed Mason City Business Association.

The Mason High School Marching Band lines up for awards Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Bands of America Grand National Championships at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis, Ohio. Ninety-two bands performed in the national competition. Mason was one of 12 bands selected to compete in the Grand National finals. They finished in 10th place overall. Provided photo

decided to try jenna's way and ferment in a mason jar instead. And WTH is growing on this basil? Some kind of crazy vine has attacked it - had to cut it all down - will pick off the leaves to salvage.
This image greatly demonstrates the four concepts of color, form, movement and depth. The color of this image creates a mood of calmness and solitude. The cool colors of the blue and greens creates a calming effect. The image appears soft and depending on the viewers mental states or association with the object, it could appear cheerful or maybe sad and lonely. These cool colors help create the next concept present in the picture which is depth. Cool colors recede into the background. The blues and greens make everything in the background recede and fade off. Depth is also present by the arrangement of the object in the photo. The jar is off-centered, following the ‘Rule of Thirds’ and creates an asymmetrical arrangement. The space of the photo shows its depth by having the jar in close focus and the background being out of focus. The next two concepts, form and movement, are also seen in this photo. Lines are one of the three fundamental shapes of form. There is a prominent straight line created by the railing. Since it is a straight line, it gives the impression of stiffness and rigidity, but also giving support to the object sitting on it. This line is also diagonal which gives a strong and stimulating effect to the photo. This also creates the last concept, movement. Diagonal creates movement by drawing eyes across the composition. This works well in this image because it moves the eyes from the left to the right where the figure of the photo rests.
Mason had came by to have his brand new 2015 WRX look the way it should. The housings were painted a semi-gloss black, red evil eyes were done, a 6000k HID kit that he provided was installed, LED C-light upgrade, and the factory puddy sealant was removed and replaced with butyl sealant.
