Trying to create more organic (curvy and less reliant on a dodecahedral base) forms. Got a new batch of magnets today. Im not a fan of the gold ones but I do like having three different colors. Helps to differentiate the form. Tends to get lost if you use nothing but silver.

This crown top shaped fridge magnet is a bottle opener. Cast metal with a steel interior frame with two strong magnets, it is 80mm (3 inches) diameter and rather weighty.

We made these bottle cap magnets at our annual estrogen festival with my mom, my 4 sisters, our 3 daughters and 2 granddaughters. It was a great way to swap family photos and take home magnets we could all cherish. For instructions, search the Martha Stewart website's craft pages. It was fun and easy.
A collection of magnets that brighten any filing cabinet, metal desk or refrigerators. They all are hand painted, hand pressed and shellacked.
These little but potent magnets are so easy to make, it can get rather addicting. I made several sets with themes tailored to friends and family's interests and lives. I will be giving these as gifts for the holidays, and am considering making them as wedding favors for my wedding in July.
Many people buy Altoid-style tins to put these little guys in, but I have some other ideas. I don't want to spend the money for the tins, plus my environmentally-conscious self worries that people will just toss the tins out after putting the magnets to use. Whenever I can, I try to recycle objects around me for my projects, rather than buy more stuff and add to over-consumption. Besides, it's more challenging, and often cheaper, to come up with alternative creative ideas! I will be sure to share any (good!) ideas I come up with for wrapping/presenting the magnets.
This set is for a friend who often travels to Japan and is very fond of Japanese culture and art.

480 magnets. Each 20-magnet pentagon has a 30-magnet pentagonal pyramid mounted on it. This is the standard 50-magnet pentagon unit. Magnet poles are aligned parallel to the perimeter of each pentagon. Adjacent pentagons have poles aligned in the same direction at the edges (as evidenced by square instead of triangular patterns at the edges). Each pentagon is mounted rotated by two magnets, leaving triangular holes at each vertex.
I love the chaos that occurs when you combine paperclips and magnets ... this is a particularly strong magnet (almost removed my thumb once when I wasn't paying attention) and it's a lot of fun ...
