New magnet board: nude beach

My clayver magnets on display at the NSS convention.

That’s right, button magnets! For sale here: www.etsy.com/listing/50468451/button-magnets

Now you can own a piece of history with my handmade button magnets.

These are Great anywhere. Fridge, cars, around your miserable cubicle, it might even stick to your iphone.

Why are my buttons great? JUST LOOK AT IT.

It’s got me, mom, Ellery and MAX. If you are a fan, you would know Max is pretty amazing.

If I sell enough of these, I might even be able to get a ticket to Saint Petersburg to pay him a visit. He doesnt have a fridge still. He just leaves his food near his window because it is cold.

The buttons are 100% American. The parts and magnets. Buying this will certainly help you stimulate the economy.

Theres only 50 sets of 4 magnets available now, and they are all handmade by me for DAYS, and about 1 inch in diameter.

I can’t guarantee that same level of love when I make it big time and some kid somewhere else makes them.

Buy one already. It’s pretty cheap, and I don't need 200 magnets on my fridge.

sincerely,

Boey

I thought this geodesic sphere built from neodymium magnets and ball bearings would make nifty wallpaper.

Magnet @ The Docks, March 1, 2006. Canadian Music Week.

Warhol began to paint images of dollar bills in the early 1960s, producing canvases arrayed with endless grids of bank notes. Returning to the subject in the 1980s, he isolated the dollar sign and replicated that symbol in paintings and prints interpreted in a sketchy, improvisational style. Warhol's Dollar Signs are direct and wry reminders that, by the 80s, paintings had themselves become consumer items and metaphors for money, a phenomenon that he readily accepted. "I like money on the wall," he said. "Say you were going to buy a $200,000 painting. I think you should take that money, tie it up, and hang it on the wall. Then when someone visited you, the first thing they would see is the money on the wall."

These two cuties are magnets, i made them it sure took me some time but i like how they ended up! :D what do you guys think?

My entry for the Zen Magnets contest.

My first ever build with colored magnets. (neoballs)

Also, my first time using this new camera. I wasn't happy with the camera at first, but it grew on me.

Hopefully this goes over well with you guys... (not sure why I'm always doubtful. You people always have something nice to say.)

Also, Merry Christmas, or whatever holiday you celebrate! Thanks.

Magnets do good things in coffee equipment, at times.

600 magnets. Each 20-magnet pentagon has a 30-magnet pentagonal pyramid mounted on it. This is the standard 50-magnet pentagon unit. Magnet poles are aligned along the perimeter of each pentagon. Adjacent pentagons have poles aligned in the same direction at the edges (as evidenced by square instead of triangular patterns at the edges).

"February 1-Hula in the Coola Day was created because, basically, people in the northern states were getting sick and tired of the crappy cold weather during the winter, and by February, they were ready for some HEAT already! So they decided to buy some hula skirts, toss their coats, mittens, pants, and scarves into a closet for the day, and go outside and do the hula like idiots who are trying to catch pneumonia. They thought that, if they tried hard enough, they could simply forget about the cold weather and trick themselves into thinking it was the nice, hot summer. (Apparently, accomplishing this means having to go outside in nothing but a grass skirt and some coconut shells and dancing.)

I had some fun last night with my mini Crystal Head Vodka bottles and shot glasses, incorporating some new glass beads I got from the thrift store this week, 3 skull fridge magnets, a colourful serving platter, and a handful of glow sticks.

I took my time arranging this platter yesterday, spanning a few hours as I came up with new ideas. The final key was cutting open some green and blue glowsticks and extracting their glowy goodness. The shot glasses are mostly water, with a little vegetable oil, some liquid detergent, and a little glow juice. The mini Crystal Head Vodka bottles still have their vodka intact; I simply poured the glowing goo into the "chip dip" resevoir in the serving platter.

After a dozen exposures of ambient light and hyperfocal point experimentation, I was about to call it a day, when I got the idea to tilt my tripod forward so it was on only 2 legs, and resting against the kitchen counter. That gave me this much better top down angle, eliminating a lot of boring background surrounding the platter, and giving me a flatter focal plane to increase DOF across the whole shot.

I may have discovered the bipod.

This is a flat magnet that has the map of the state of Florida on it. I want to collect magnets like this from all states and countries. In return, I can send magnets like this (or different Florida souvenir magnets), postcards, pressed pennies, kawaii, etc. Contact me if interested! Thanks :)

Have you tried the magnet challenge? Free jewelry if you are magnetic. A few of us tried the magnetgate magnet challenge @ Union Square Park this past weekend during the Union Square Greenmarket, farmers market. Out of about 20 people who tried the magnetic challenge, (a line of people actually formed waiting to take the magnet challenge), about 15 people were magnetic though 10 people could be debunked as sweat and 3 people were magnetic who could feel and see the pull of the magnet. And the magnet did not fall off easily when shaken around. And some people got free jewelry. #magnetgate

Magnets made for exhibit included in Wine festival in my home town Subotica. This happened at the end of September.

Background motive is inspired by stained glass on Synagogue in Subotica. I also used transfer technique for text.

They were packed nicely with tags and explanation and I won a third place.

I was sooo happy. :)

Made using pins from a childhood toy. The magnets hold the pins on and act as a spine. Spirals, curves, and curves made from lines have always been my favorite shapes and designs.

*Edit- This is my first photo with one hundred+ views!

More tricks here.

Los hice para mi refrigerador! me sobro una masita y salieron jejej se ven preciosos en mi cocina luego tomo foto!!

Using a wooden mouse trap. Cover with scraps of paper and then dress the top up a little. The tiny accessory sets work best for these.

This is the craft I had my students do for mother's day. EASY! Find a small colored photo from a magazine and cut to fit size of the glass melted marble looking craft item found at craft store or if lucky like me... the dollar store! White glue spread over magazine picture and glued to back of glass will dry clear. I allowed over night to dry. Attach sticky back large round black magnet to back or if unable to locate sticky type, use glue or glue gun and allow to dry completely before using. So much fun, so much variety... and very inexpensive! Learned this from a mom's group I was in at church called MOPS! :)

Yay!

This is in no way meant to be shmoopy. Nope. When I first (totally accidentally) made this, I in no way immediately went "I have to show this to Sparr because it is both magnets and a heart." Nope. >.>

Kitchen magnet from company trying to suck me into paying them to "market" my patent. But after trimming away the advertising, it's my patent on a magnet.

My partner for the B is for Bottle Caps swap also said she collected cows so I made her this magnet, too.

The dual cube shape is made from 279 cube-shaped magnets. The thumb is one of the sort used in Penn and Teller's National Magic Trick, with a few magnets inside to make it stick to the magnet sculpture. My eight year old daughter came up with the thumb idea.
